Synopsis

Throughout his youth, unskilled healer Laust was taken advantage of by unscrupulous adventurers. Despite intensive efforts to improve himself, Laust is swindled by the members of Blades of Lightning—the first party that he joins after completing his training—and is eventually banished by its leader Margulus.

As the subject of public ridicule, Laust is not hopeful about his future prospects. However, novice adventurer Narsena unexpectedly offers to form a party with him, and he happily accepts. The duo quickly gain fame by conquering uncharted parts of the labyrinth. While there seems to be a reason behind Narsena's hasty proposal, Laust is oblivious to what it could be.

Meanwhile, Margulus fails for the second time to slay a poisonous hydra, even after enlisting the help of elite healer Lyra for the quest. Laust soon finds himself being asked to rejoin Blades of Lightning, but it is not as easy as he imagined to move on from his former comrades-in-arms despite his new path and current companion.

This anime has a lot of potential. I really enjoyed the plot, and the characters were engaging and well-developed. It left me curious enough that I’ll probably check out the light novel at some point to dive deeper into the story. If you’re someone who isn’t overly critical of every anime you watch and just enjoys experiencing new shows that bring something fresh to the table rather than rehashing the same tired tropes, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a shot. I don’t regret watching it at all—in fact, I found it to be quite enjoyable. I honestly wouldn’t mind a second season because I’m ...

Mixed Feelings
Took me a year to finish watching it. The artwork is average. I can deal with that, but the story is just atrocious. With every episode, it got worse. I don't know what the author wants the MC to be. The MC's character just does not inspire. As for the story, I don't know if it is just the anime director/ production company or if the author has an idea how to write and just throws ideas in the story without reason. Well, that's my rant without spoilers. I have seen some bad anime, but this is terrible. Anyway some of you may enjoy this, ...

Did you ever feel second-hand embarrassment?
I did while watching this anime.
Several times in almost every episode.
I had a hunch that this would be bad, because most "banished" stories are barely passable, and the rating was so low.
But I love fantasy feel-good stories, that I didn't want to believe the very negative reviews.
And yet, this IS complete trash.
Sure, the animation is not as horrible as the worst Chinese 3D. For most part it can be described as "low grade generic art", tho some things are really bad (e.g. monsters orcs etc.).
But all the rest is as low as it can get.
The plot is non-existent, the ...
