Sentai Daishikkaku 2nd Season

After Sentouin D successfully infiltrated the Ranger Force in the disguise of Hibiki Sakurama, he is closer than ever to defeating the heroic Dragon Keepers. While strategizing his ideal placement in the Force, he discovers that he is assigned to the Green Squadron, whose main duty is to search and eradicate long-lost boss monsters.

Joined by another new member, Angel Usukubo; their senior, Kanon Hisui; and a mysterious informant, Chidori, Sentouin D is first tasked with identifying suspicious activity in an abandoned school frequented by delinquents. During their investigation, they fall into a trap, and the group soon realizes that a boss monster is behind it all. Sentouin D must now find a way to escape alongside the others if he wants to continue pursuing his ultimate goal—achieving his ideal world free from boss monsters and the Dragon Keepers.

The 2nd Season of Sentai Daishikkaku was a pleasure to watch as it further explores the world-building of the "Go Go Loser Rangers" and has some of the more interesting characters in the spotlight, who were on the sidelines in the first season. And I HIGHLY recommend to watch this anime in its fantastic English dub. Unfortunately, for whatever reasons, the pacing and story progression felt rushed after the school arc which was around episode 6 and onward.

And it seems for most people who followed the manga, they can attest to the lack of production in the later half of this 2nd season. Personally, ... although they did chop and sped it the last arc, I sill found it very enjoyable. And was shocked to see its low rating of 7 compared to MANY slop isekai (of that I can appreciate although) which ironically would have a higher rating...

The animation is gorgeous and the story at its core will draw you into a memorable world that you would never expect for "Power Rangers" if you ever grew up seeing them around. I do want to mention that this was released on Disney+, which probably contributed a ton to its lack of viewership overall. Hence, my 9/10 MAL rating to boost it, and honestly, it is a great anime overall to where I would absolutely come back to watch a potential season 3.

Mixed Feelings

This Is a Good Story ! The characters are all great and the animation is also great, but... the only negative thing about the anime is the adaptation!

Why? Why???? The first half of the season is still a great Magatia arc. A little cut but nothing serious, but then what happened in the second half of the season?

Why, was this rush necessary, or scene changes? I have no idea whose idea it was, but it almost killed the sequel hype.

They left a small door for the sequel, if there is any sequel to this, which of course I would be happy about, but then I ... hope there won't be such a horrible adaptation again!

Since half of the season was good and I liked the animation, again because of my soft heart .... between 6-7 . But....

I'm sure that this anime will be one of the biggest disappointments of the year.

The pacing in Season 2 gets even messier—not the kind of fun “chaotic,” but more like a story that’s being rushed. Many important events are skipped through without proper build-up, so none of the moments land the way they should. Everything is executed too quickly: conflicts, reveals, even emotional scenes pass by without giving the audience any time to feel the tension.

On top of that, there’s no clear line between enemies and allies. The worldbuilding becomes even more confusing; the relationships between factions are never solidly explained, so it’s hard to tell who’s supposed to be fighting who. It all feels crowded but empty.

Any hope ... that Season 2 would fix the messiness of Season 1 never comes true. Instead of tightening the world and its characters, the anime ends up feeling even more scattered and inconsistent.

The biggest problem lies with the rangers/heroes. Their lore is completely unclear. Characters appear out of nowhere, disappear without explanation, or even “die and come back” with no logical reason. It’s not a twist or foreshadowing—it just feels random.

To make it worse, the world never explains any kind of death or revival system. If revival exists, most anime would at least clarify the conditions, limitations, who can do it, and why it’s possible. But here, none of that is addressed.

The result? All emotional stakes disappear. Character deaths mean nothing. Important fights don’t feel important. And many characters end up feeling like weightless background pieces.
