Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru.

Hachiman Hikigaya is an apathetic high school student with narcissistic and semi-nihilistic tendencies. He firmly believes that joyful youth is nothing but a farce, and everyone who says otherwise is just lying to themselves.

In a novel punishment for writing an essay mocking modern social relationships, Hachiman's teacher forces him to join the Volunteer Service Club, a club that aims to extend a helping hand to any student who seeks their support in achieving their goals. With the only other club member being the beautiful ice queen Yukino Yukinoshita, Hachiman finds himself on the front line of other people's problems—a place he never dreamed he would be. As Hachiman and Yukino use their wits to solve many students' problems, will Hachiman's rotten view of society prove to be a hindrance or a tool he can use to his advantage?

At first glance, Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. feels like just another high school rom-com with a sarcastic loner as the protagonist. But what sets it apart is how it gradually turns into a sharp character study on social isolation, self-perception, and the awkward honesty of relationships. Hachiman’s cynical approach to social dynamics makes him one of the more fascinating leads in recent anime — not because he’s cool, but because he’s painfully self-aware and flawed.

The strength of this season lies in its grounded writing. Conversations are loaded with subtext, character interactions are awkward in a very real way, and there’s no ... sugar-coating the consequences of trying to “fix” people. Yukino and Yui are both more than just love interests — they reflect different emotional paths Hachiman might take, and neither is simple.

The pacing can feel slow for some, and the comedy sometimes masks heavy emotional weight, but this subtlety is where the show thrives. The art style is modest, and some scenes feel under-animated, but the facial expressions and quiet pauses carry more emotion than flashy visuals.

If you’ve ever felt like an outsider trying to understand where you belong — this anime hits home.

Mixed Feelings

Oregairu isn't necessarily bad; it's a decent season. I mean, it could be worse, but not because of the protagonist or the plot, but rather due to the pointless and non- essential characters in the protagonist's development.

Hachiman, who has an interesting perception of others, is forced to change after his teacher, Hiratsuka, forces him to join the service club. This happens after a disastrous practice session, which she believes won't help him in the future.

To generalize, I don't want to explain every detail because, firstly, the secondary characters, aside from Yuig ahama and Yukinoshita, are empty, not bad, but empty. Zaimokuza is the only decent ... one because, although he provides comedic relief, it's coherent, which doesn 't appear in the second season. I find it sad because he was the only decent character among the rest.

The initial relationship between Hachiman and Yukinoshita fascinates me. It's incredible how they communicate and share certain things in common, like how they combat their own ideals regarding their loneliness and how they face it every day in the service club. I love their relationship.

Ironically, Yukin oshita from the first season took center stage in general. But that's okay; she's a good character this season. Yuigahama, a clingy character, has a sincere heart, which is demonstrated throughout the series. She's not a bad character; she's decent and genuinely expresses sincerity towards Hachiman and Yukinoshita, making her a coherent character. I like her.

As for the rest, they appear out of nowhere without any order. It feels a bit rushed, especially since there were already over seven characters after five episodes. I can understand this due to adapting six volumes in the first season. At least, I wish they had adapted more, because, honestly, these empty characters don't allow the protagonist to have his own time to think.

Hachiman, in this season , is a character with an excellent introduction regarding his thoughts on youth and society in general. He's a unique character, not average, with humanity, sincerity, pessimism, but also logic in his thoughts. I don't think he's bad, but it's bad that he judges himself too much. Each person has their way of seeing things, but if he harms himself, then it wouldn't make sense for him to continue like that.

That's why Hachiman is a great character; he has humanity, complexity, and depth. He's relatable, simply a good character, better than most average anime characters that exist so far, and I hope there are more like him, not necessarily like him, but better with better secondary characters and all that.

That's why, for me, Hachiman is a 9/10. But, as I repeat, he's the only decent one. If the entire season had focused on him, I believe Oregairu would be a thousand times better.

In some way, Hachiman and Yukinoshita saved this first season, which, thinking about it, is better than the third season. It's not that I hate Oregairu; it has one of the best protagonists I've seen, but unfortunately, the secondary characters ruin everything, making it feel empty..

"My teen RomCom Snafu" says the title. Well, where the fuck is it then?!? This show is a disgrace to the RomCom genre!

Well, first off, there is no romance or comedy in this show. No, like for real the title of this show is a bunch of bullshit to bait you to watch a 13 episode trash with having no goal or objective in its plot. There isn't even a plot. There are just lifeless characters hovering around the map trying to force meaningless conversations with the most boring ass topics and thinking as if they are making some progress in the story. Pathetic honestly ... how the producers thought that this is even a least bit of entertaining. This is nothing more than some "not so funny business" if it was made into an anime. This is the most overrated anime I've ever seen.

Apart from the characters and the story being a bunch of baloney, the art and the animation really sucks as well! Its like I'm watching fucking tetris turned into an anime. Its absolutely horrible, everthing looks so dogshit. Having no plot or premise aside this show has some weak drama which looks so forced and cringy that only a robot can think of it as any good.

The only plus points might be the voice acting and the op and ed which I quite liked. Not sure if everyone would have the same opinion as I am an osu player. I am pretty sure that viewers rated this based of the "waifu" priviliges on yukinon cuz this is just garbage otherwise.
