Fate/strange Fake

Fate/strange Fake centers around an imperfect copy of a Grail War based on the Third Holy Grail War in Fuyuki. Following the conclusion of the third Grail War, a US-based organization with magi distinct from the London-based Mage Association, used data from Fuyuki's Grail War to plan their own ritual. Seventy years later, they used the city of Snowfield as the Sacred Land for their own Grail War. However, they were unable to successfully replicate every aspect of the ritual, resulting in it acting only as an imitation that has lost the Saber class and allowed for the summoning of strange Servants due to the blurring of the definition of a "hero."

Rohngall and his pupil, Faldeus, have been dispatched by the Mage's Association to investigate the city and the state of the war. Faldeus, a US organization spy, has Rohngall sniped upon his arrival, despite knowing that Rohngall is a puppet. He declares that their Holy Grail War has been in development and is real, causing a commotion at the Clock Tower, and that he wishes to "advertise" the project to the Association.

Fate/strange Fake is pure entertainment. It strips away the angst of Fate/Zero and the romance of Stay Night to focus on what happens when you throw overpowered historical figures into a glitzy American city and let them run wild.

Cinematography: The action sequences are fluid and dynamic, utilizing sweeping camera angles that capture the scale of battles between literal demigods.

Character Designs: The characters look sharp and distinct, with lighting effects that make the Servants' magical energy feel tangible and dangerous.

One of the strongest pillars of this anime is the score composed by the legendary Hiroyuki Sawano.

The Impact: Known for his work on Attack on Titan and ... 86, Sawano brings his signature "Sawano Drop" energy here. The soundtrack is a mix of electronic rock, orchestral swells, and vocal tracks that elevate every skirmish into an epic event.

The Atmosphere: The music perfectly matches the modern American setting—it’s loud, industrial, and adrenaline-pumping.

Preliminary (3/13 eps)

After a long wait of approximately three years, the episode aired and was delayed. Many fans have been waiting for this for a long time, and it certainly exceeded my expectations when watching this series again.

Fate/Strange Fake is a story filled with many prominent characters, such as Masters and Servants. This is very different from other Fate series, where there are many surprising and unexpected things here. There will be a lot of chaos and instability, making this series very much worth the wait.

Animated by A-1 Pictures, which is my favorite studio because they can make everything even better. I really like the character ... interactions, and every dialogue looks interesting with expressive animation movements. Every fight makes me tense, which is felt through the animation, voice acting, soundtrack, and sound effects, clearly elevating this series to a different level.

Following the initial Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn finally came its main story; Fate/Strange fake

How long was the wait? 3 years

Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY

The story follows deep into the nasuverse in an alternate timeline to Fate/stay night, in which the holy grail war is happening... but starts fundamentally unstable and spirals further out of control. Servants summoned incorrectly, faction overlaps, and the Grail itself a ticking bomb rather than a prize. This instability bleeds into every interaction making even early encounters feel apocalyptic rather than ceremonial. This instability doesn't just add chaos but raises stakes and makes every interaction feel unpredictable. This makes the ... story feel exponentially more fun and interesting to watch compared to an overpowered Isekai protagonist.

A1 pictures took the source material to another level, providing the cleanest SFX, fight choreography (yes episode 3 im looking at you), and genuinely memorable OSTS. Every fight feels heavy and chaotic. Even basic humour scenes are animated at the highest level. Characters have perfect voice actors that represent them; and dialogue isn't rushed or exponentially dragged into monologues.

But what truly elevates Fate/Strange fake? It is undeniably the cast, being massive but no character feels pointless. Masters, servants, the Church and even external forces like Dead Apostles all collide in a story refusing to slow down. It rewards viewers familiar with the nasuverse while still pulling in newcomers through high stakes.

Would definitely recommend, 10/10.
