Diligently eating gods
Anime Relations: God Eater
The news of God Eater anime adaptation brought me to hype when I was stumbling through GEB, but how dare I forgot the preordained outcome of every anime adaptation ever.
The rant will be riddled with spoilers, so proceed with caution.
Lenka now boasts an abnormally high compatibility. I understood the need to make a protagonist special, despite the original story having a character who is tied to a cursed high compatibility from birth.
Lenka seems to have a knack at being an operator at least, which got me wondering why they don't start with a completely original plot where Lenka could be some operator. But wait, God Eater always sounds cooler as a job, if you deliberately ignore the high casualty rate and the occasional sneer at how you are no more than a brainless tool.
My hope to see Ren and Shio to some extent animated is officially thrown out of the window. Squeezing Shio into the last episode to save everyone out of blue would be the most awkward plot change in history, but that finale only God knows.
Why am I still talking like the anime would save itself when you squint enough with love to catch on its logical redemption. To be fair, it made some smart and good points - hopefully that isn't our delusion. You just stop loving the rain when you are blown off the bridge and choking with mud getting in every hole on your body.

Anime Relations: Orenchi no Furo Jijou
I forgot to mention Orenchi no Furo Jijou and Akame ga Kill! but one being a short anime contained within five minutes or less and the other that I checked its last episode for the convenience of an original anime ending are, well, nothing big.
The former has a misleading dramatic OP while its setting never spans beyond the bathtub. The title should have said it all. When so many aquatic creatures gather in the same bathtub plus the inviting scent of alcohol, had the protagonist been realistic and treated these creatures no better than random animals that have hogged his aquatic relief, we could have had the greatest hot pot in the world. (Un)fortunately, we are continuously invited to daily goofing of aquatic creatures accented by questionable situations with the main victim being the protagonist instead. As the original manga goes along the 4-koma format, I wonder if this could be a good example for fellow series in same format to follow for the fact that a 5-minute episode is totally reassuring in matter of animation quality and pacing. As fall season is approaching its end, I am thankful for this arguably pleasant breather when everything else stinks for the most part.
The latter is strong on the drama part as characters die left and right, especially background characters provided as tragic story fodders out to earn a fitting grotesque exit. Or so how it has been in the original manga; while the anime already followed its own interpretation, no one would believe that drama materials wouldn't be milked for the sake of our future children. I'm not wholeheartedly invested in the series to act raging, but this original anime ending would go down in my history as a hilariously accurate example of killing people fictionally while they are still alive and breathing (fictionally).

Don't ask for the worst; it can get worse
Anime Relations: Gugure! Kokkuri-san
What followed my vague expectation the moment I learned there would be adaptations of Donten ni Warau and World Trigger was an utter agony because everything went down the drain into the black hole of why-this... Coupled with personal reasons, my interest in both flung itself into the exosphere and I haven't seen it since. Good voice casting can't save the day when I'm more about being visually stimulated, my bad.
Gugure! Kokkuri-san was a suggestion from my friend to begin with; I got myself prepared that the series wouldn't be above your daily show of comedic life routines, so all is well. The last episode wrung a bit of sympathy out of me, which deserves a thumb-up that would go down in five seconds. Thanks for being the only solace in this sea of boredom.
Psycho-Pass ss2 stirred up all the rage with the so-so sideline victim now resurrected as the holy junior colleague of a self-pity backstabber. I watched the potential flying towards the horizon as if there were no more fucks left with each episode passing by. Ah, but the damage has been done and it isn't like I harboured much hope for this series. Please end well. Go to the other side.
I might as well give up on finding good animated series to watch.
