netflix
i went ahead and subscribed to netflix last week!
i already had shows that i wanted to watch in mind
so this isn't a monthly thing, i'll get through my list before considering continuing
i actually compared netflix to the ani-one asia ultra membership
(i took notes of what shows they had and made an interest stack if you're interested!)
cherry magic (anime) [lovely show] was what i wanted to watch,
but the majority of what was paywalled didn't really appeal to me
ani-one already provided me so much value just from the shows that they release for free (thanks)
thankfully, i went and searched the anime on google
finding it being streamed on netflix
alongside several others i was planning to watch for the anime watching challenge!
so i went ahead and paid for the basic subscription
(good enough for me)
(the plans have changed so much, and while i was gone, password sharing is now no more)
fragrant flower (and delayed watching)
the first show i watched, and it was super sweet!
very cute, very light hearted, very much my style.
the thing is, netflix currently has 7 episdoes while episode 8 already aired in japan
i only realised that netflix was releasing episodes one week after
after coming across a scene on social media that i had not seen
from episode 7 while i was only on episode 6.
after doing some digging and learning that netflix has been doing this
...
i feel fine actually!
i am no stranger to delayed viewing this season-
currently watching april showers bring may flowers on iqiyi,
they paywall the latest episode for vip subscribers
and i refuse to spend money on a platform
that does such a horrendous job with subtitles
... the show is cute though.
i do not see anyone talking about it,
probably because less people are watching.
the communities surrounding animes are nice
wanting to be a part of discussions regarding your favorite shows as they air is valid
pointing out questionable release schedule strategies is valid
i guess it's just not that big of a deal to me.
netflix is known for their wacky release schedules
which some people blame for shows not getting enough exposure, views and results to warrant renewals.
i've had shows (non-anime) that i liked get cancelled by netflix before.
we don't really have any say in this stuff,
the only thing we can do is carry on watching and supporting shows we like.
awc 2025
my new boss is goofy is what i'm currently watching on netflix
and it's probably going to become one of my favorites.
so goofy, so silly-
it was the first anime in a while that actually got me laughing out loud!
the characters are very distinct and memorable,
the humor is top notch and very relatable!
i recommend it! おすすめです
i'm watching it partly to complete an item in the anime watching challenge
which i have been having fun participating in!
i love challenges like this because it motivates you to really branch out,
watching shows that you wouldn't really know about before/find appealing at first glance
and ending up with absolute gems that stay with you for a long time.
i have totally switched out most other entertainment consumption for animes because of this though
(no complaints, actually!)
... it's quite hardcore.
i'm aiming to finish strong this year and take a breather next year~!
bye
animes have really been my hyperfixation for the year
and it has been nearly three months of me trying out mal...
i'm having lots of fun discovering, watching and loving animes + mangas!
i hope that it continues to be that way :-)
