So yesterday I was sitting looking up anime memes and I got some good laughs not all were well thought out but for the most part it was enjoyable time, then I came across a meme of Re:zero. It was a what I watched expected got me, and it had Re:zero, then SAO and some other anime, then subaru suffering, and honestly it would have been fine if a few seconds later I saw yet another meme of shinji as a unlikable loser that just screamed I don't get it, and this is what I'm getting at. their is a large portion of this community that just doesn't get it, rather they chose not to get it they don't respect the medium. to them its nothing but a childish art form that can have cool actions scenes. I think it is important that we(those who look at anime as a medium uninhibited by the constraints of conventional story telling) start to draw a distinction between US and THEM. this is not to begrudge those who are not serious fans rather to help us understand each other so we can no that these people are not worth listening to and don't hold a relevant opinion on your viewing habits I think it will help us find better what where looking for.

The basic point I'm trying to convey is that I think with the expanding of our medium we need new terms of distinction. Very similar to how the gamming community since its mainstream rise has segmented into the casual/bro gammer and the hardcore. really I think that this is probably most important for us Hardcore(temporary name) so that we don't get labeled assholes or losers for having good taste or even just getting it.
