The JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) special panel at Anime Expo 2025 revealed the main staff for the seventh part, Steel Ball Run, on Friday. The panel also unveiled an illustration by Daisuke Tsumagari (pictured above).

Hirohiko Araki originally launched Steel Ball Run in Weekly Shounen Jump in January 2004 as an unrelated story to the series. Following its transfer to Ultra Jump in April 2005, it became an official part, set in an alternate timeline. Shueisha published the manga in 24 volumes between May 2004 and June 2011, later compiling it into 16 volumes from February 2017 to January 2018.

Araki launched the action adventure manga series with the first part, Phantom Blood, in Weekly Shounen Jump in 1986. The second through six part—Sentou Chouryuu (Battle Tendency), Stardust Crusaders, Diamond wa Kudakenai (Diamond Is Unbreakable), Ougon no Kaze (Golden Wind), and Stone Ocean—ran in the same magazine between 1987 and 2003.

The eighth part, JoJolion, ended in August 2021 in Ultra Jump after a ten-year run. Shueisha published the 27th and final volume in September that year.

The JoJoLands, the ninth part of the manga series, debuted in Ultra Jump in February 2023. Shueisha released the fifth and latest volume in December 2024.

David Production adapted the first six parts into anime series with the most recent, Stone Ocean, streaming in three installments on Netflix in December 2021, September 2022, and December 2022. VIZ Media released the anime on two Blu-ray volumes in January and September 2024.

VIZ Media published the first volume of Steel Ball Run on May 27, with the second volume planned for a July 22 release.

part 5 director will be directing part 7 which is great to know considering that part 5 was the best animated and most creative jojo part adaptation out there with both the direction and part 5 was the most sakuga fest also part out of any jojo parts, cannot wait for part 7

Good staff. There is a high chance that it will be a great anime adaptation, just like the previous JoJo anime Parts.

Staff is looking good so far so that's nice.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

Take me back to the days before MAL became infested with Twitter's favorite buzzwords.

Part 5 was the worst for me. It is very worrying to see he will be this season's director. This season(part 7) seems very exciting in terms of content so I will remain hopeful for now

@ToleratedToast6 Haven't read the manga so I can't do a comparison but in these cases I always expect to be better. I refuse to believe the manga is so boring
