I got a warning because my forum signature simply exceeded the forum rules for going over a file size limit. Once I reduced the file size, I resubmitted the signature and the moderator approved it as acceptable. So panties to the moderators are not seen as sexual content. I would assume the same thing goes for bikinis and skirts too. lol Plus you are talking about a medium where Users will commonly use a character from their favorite Anime as a profile pic. MAL isn't going to started banning every 2000 year old vampire Loli gramma off this site simply because a single Users thinks that character looks underage. lol Like I said before as long as a fictional character isn't graphically nude, generally MAL will allow it. They would likely remove any pictures of actual real life people who look under age as a profile pic though. |

Technically there isn't a strict “avatar policy” on this site that I have ever seen. I would assume it just falls back on their "Community Standards & Terms of Service" which would include such things a graphic nudity, actual pornography, and explicit sexual imagery (all of which is subjective to the moderators). |

If you dislike them then there is an exceedingly simple solution: Don't select them as images to adorn your own profile page and don't visit or make return visits to stare at the images of those who include them as their own decor of choice. If you proceed to operate on that basis, then how is it affecting you? It isn't. The content you're referring to is directly sourced from and all over non-hentai anime anyway, so it wouldn't make any consistent sense to censor imagery from non-pornographic anime which comprise a large portion of this website's database and purpose. Those series have many fans, so why should they be disenfranchised from posting whichever images they want from those series? At least with hentai you can argue it's too explicit for a shared public space. But nothing is too explicit about underwear or bikinis. The age of the characters is completely irrelevant. |

I honestly feel like you don't quite understand what kind of place this forum here is, because it's defnitely not something any kind of mainstream peeps find themselves in. the MAL forums have always been a cespool for the more degenerate half of the anime community. not that I encourage that behaviour - I frankly wish some people would tone it done a bit for their own sanity's sake - but I'm just saying it how it is. |
