| A lot of series are trying to tell a plot with a definite conclusion, at least at some point. But what is the greatest episode you've seen of a series that could truly end at any moment? Whether it be a CGDCT anime, a detective series or even an anime like Cowboy Bebop. What is your favorite single episode of a series that isn't so concerned with a serialized narrative? (Frozen Time) For Aria, is the Auguri, Buon anno episode. The new year episode. Violet is probably 10 or 9. The one about her writing letters for a little girl. For D. Conan's was Kogoro's Class Reunion Murder Case, because Kogoro is surprisingly cool there. |
| That Pierrot Le Fou episode of Cowboy Bebop is so different in tone to the rest of the show that even though the series as a whole had to grow on me, I loved that episode since the first watch. |

| Episode 17 of Lupin III: Part 5 is a very nice standalone murder mystery and episode 25 of Gallery Fake is a heartwarming slice of life story that mostly takes place in a bar. |

Ending up with a crazy musical number with the voice actors singing was brilliant. Probably my favorite standalone episode of all time, I rewatched it more times that any other anime episode. |
