Gege put too many eggs in Kenny’s basket when Sukuna wasn’t around. Ultimately Kenny isn’t as scheming as people think he is. The dude was just bored because he’s been extending his life for over a thousand years and wanted to see something interesting for the first time in who knows how long. He himself didn’t even know what the merger would do and the purpose of creating a new “heian” era was just to make the world more interesting to him.

Kenny’s conclusion is actually really good for his character and gave us one of the most unique fights in manga. Bro got to fight the most unique technique which actually made him have fun and enjoy himself.

ahh i 1000% agree with you that Kenjaku’s ending is absolute braindead behaviour and potentially series ending, but I don’t think it’s really fair to say he’s overall poorly written because of that. Most of his screentime and presentation was well done- the infamous top of head open brain panel and the mysteriousness and intruige surrounding him, his influence on the story so on so on were pretty good. but his death and ‘reincarnation’ were absolutely tragic writing side

No point in Kenjaku even being a thing. Just let it actually be Geto and you have a pretty solid villian

I guess Akutami thought that would be too simple? They have the same motives more or less anyway

Kenjaku was easily the worst character in jjk. Literally no reason he should've even existed they should've just kept him as geto.

Kenjaku is such a wild character—every time I think I’ve figured out his motives, he throws in another twist. The layers of manipulation and planning are insane. Honestly, half the fun of JJK is trying to guess what this guy’s really aiming for.

But in the middle of his fight, Gege probably thought "Fuck that shit, I wanna end this sooner" so he just offed Gojo and Kenjaku.

I mean, Gege was rushing for it to end so I think it's plausible.

Having Kenjaku around + True form Sukuna would be writing into a corner (like Madara) since there's no way for them to win anymore unless there's an out of this world ass-pull.

@ReMightyRon Yeah it was one or the other. You can't have 2 overpowered villains without Gojo or a Bleach-level asspull.

Gege probably thought he can't have both of them at the same time, so he just went with Sukuna who seemed to be more inline with the series than Kenjaku.
