The 10th year anniversary event for the Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) anime series announced a sixth season on Saturday, revealing an announcement video.

Produced by J.C.Staff, the 13-episode first anime season aired in Spring 2015, followed by a second and third season in Summer 2019 and Fall 2020. The fourth season aired in split cours in Summer 2022 and Winter 2023. The fifth and latest season aired in 15 episodes in Fall 2024.

The Orion no Ya (Arrow of the Orion) side story anime movie opened in Japan in February 2019.

Warner Bros. Japan released three original video anime (OVA) episodes in December 2016, January 2020, and April 2021.

The anime series, abbreviated as DanMachi, adapts Fujino Omori's adventure fantasy light novel, which he originally submitted for the 4th GA Bunko Award in 2012 and received a publication offer. SB Creative began publishing the novel with illustrations by Suzuhito Yasuda in January 2013 and released the 21st volume on October 11 last year. DanMachi has a cumulative 20 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

Young Gangan serialized a manga adaptation by Kunieda from August 2013 to September 2018. Taisei Yagami began drawing a second manga adaptation on the same magazine in December 2019. Square Enix published the sixth volume in February 2025.

Yen Press licensed both the manga and light novel in English in October 2014 and December 2014, respectively. The 16th manga volume shipped in December 2025, and the 19th novel volume released in August 2024.

J.C.Staff also produced a 12-episode television anime adaptation of Omori and illustrator Kiyotaka Haimura's Sword Oratoria side-story novel in Spring 2017, adapting the first four volumes. SB Creative published the 16th volume last October. Square Enix also released the 32nd volume of Takashi Yagi's manga adaptation in that month.

@deg There are 3 volumes out for the main series, and each of them is pretty long.

This is one of the extreme uber ultra times (especially for a harem story) where I literally beg the author to please let this series die already. It has lost everything that made it good charming and interesting since season 3. If you see me saying for a harem series, someone that watched an ungodly amount of harem content and dumb harem content this should be a gigantic red flag for everyone who want to begin this series after this announcement here

@Yubisoft If you're not enjoying it anymore, you could just drop it. Nobody is forcing you to keep watching it.

@GamingOtaku6001 How that has to do with my comment exactly? Are only the people who still like the series are allowed to comment here? Is this what you are implying?

@Yubisoft sorry but HUH? this is a HAREM SHOW? no waaaay! :O nahhh that's not it... it can't be! it is an epic/high fantasy show! High School DxD now THAT is a harem show! MC shouts it out-loud, 'i wanna be a harem king!' it got 25 TWENTY-FIVE volumes from 2008-2018 where as DM only has 21 Volumes 2013-2025 (so far). not counting all the other side story, bonus content, game writing he has written for the DM franchise... PLUS DxD got 'shin' with four books from 2018-20. so that's 29 books for DxD vs 21 for DM? also, DxD only got Four seasons (so far) with S3 getting cut short with 3-4 final episodes of anime original content storylines.
just an ol school American otaku enjoyin the life. don't sass me kiddies, i've been otaku probably since before you were born. leave me in peace and i won't bother you either.
