Hello Anime Enjoyers,
my friend recommended Naruto Shippuden, but told me to skip all the filler episodes,
i told him, i really like to list all the Anime i watched but theres no option on MAL to display those episodes i havent watched.
So i cant show something like this:

Episode 73 (Filler) - havent watched
Episode 74 (Filler) - havent watched
Episode 75 - watched
Episode 76 - watched
Episode 77 (Filler) - havent watched

Because of this, i cant watch Naruto Shippuden.
It would be a nice feature in my Opinion

What is considered a filler episode and what isn't lay entirely within a matter of user opinion. There is nothing, no function whatsoever the site can have to mark individual episodes in this way. If you want to leave a comment on the episode you can do that.

There is one issue though- if you are not watching all the anime, you should not be marking it Complete.
Complete means you watched the entire thing, from the first minute to the last, no matter what the content of the episodes.

I think that's being too prescriptive.

If someone watched a show but skipped an arc they should be able to indicate that they're done with the show by putting it in completed and shouldn't feel any sort of "social pressure" to go back and watch the episodes they didn't want to watch.

For example you can currently edit a show in your Completed section and change the episode count to something less than the total. The guy could do that for Naruto Shippenden, but then put in the tags a mention "skipped fillers". Nobody should get upset about that, it's their list after all, and they're being factual about how many total episodes they saw, and the fact that THEY consider themselves done with the show - which is ultimately what putting something in "Completed" means - I AM DONE with the show. It doesn't matter if other people disagree, because it's me watching, and the shows I'm finished with go in "Completed", they don't clutter up "Watching", "On Hold", "Dropped" or "Plan to Watch" because they don't belong there.

Nobody should be able to complain "yeah but they didn't 'really' Complete it". Because, who cares? It's their list and by editing the total seen and leaving a note about skipping the fillers they're being more honest about what parts they saw. We're not their parents telling them to eat all their peas before leaving the dinner table, their list is ultimately for them and they can say whatever they want in it.

@cipheron You are literally making an argument that it's okay to lie and misrepresent. LOL seriously
Just because you can get away with something does not make it right.

How would it be lying and misrepesenting to tag a show as completed then set the episode count to be that minus the skipped episodes, while listing it in the tags that they skipped the fillers, which is what i suggested.

It's the exact opposite of lying and misrepresentation. In fact the attitude you're putting out would create a chilling effect making people more likely to lie about it, and just label the show as Completed and not mention at all that they skipped fillers.

For example what if someone watched a series that had fillers, skipped the fillers then went on to watch a sequel season? How do you recommend them to organize the shows on their list?

My suggestion was to put Season 1 in their completed list, but then deduct the skipped episodes from the total and put a note in the listing, then go onto Season 2, putting that in their completed list too. If you have an alternative suggestion, lay it out. Would they have Season 2 in their completed list but put Season 1 in their Dropped list? That would just seem weird and counter-intuitive. So, before attacking the suggestion why don't you come up with an alternative that makes sense.

> does not make it right.

We're not talking about bombing Gaza or some shit here. We're talking about whether people who finished watching a kids fucking cartoon can put it into their completed list or not.
