Those night photos that they took really were good. After their last exp of Haruno driving i think a few lesosns are neccessary. Nice ref to the laid back camp series with their cameos. Yashajin pass was quite the experience. They sure ended up taking quite the detour to make it to Matsumoto castle. That meal that they had after sure looked delicious. In the end the pilgrimage was a lotta work but im glad that they managed to complete it.

Yuru Camp centric episode! That alone is a 20/10 for me.

The girls sure had a packed schedule, but that's what you get if you want to visit so many places.
Wonder if Satsuki made another time-lapse at the last location.

They did my girl Ena dirty in this episode. Here's a pic for those who cannot stand injustice.

@Tirinchas Thank you! And for Chikuwa too, of course. :D

And I loved the attention to detail, the Tetris pieces kept properly falling (and building up on top of each other) while the playing girl was stealing snacks. :D

This was literally Yuru Camp tributary episode. Someone who didn't watched it obviously wasn't as good. But still it was very good on its own.

Yashajin Pass scene was hilarious and Hachibuse mountain was so beautiful. Amazing production so far.

The word "Goolgulu map" and Shikishima holding Taishou all the time made my day.

Yuru Camp fans, like myself, were eating Michelin grade gourmet food for this episode of Mono and I couldn't be happier about it! ^_^

Seeing the girls travelling around with Haruno in her Nissan Pao to visit the locations, speedrun style, where the girls of Yuru Camp lived and visited was really enjoyable. not only that, but they also added in a few cameo shots of Chiaki, Aoi, Rin and Nadeshiko throughout this episode. Sadly, Ena didn't make an actual appearance apart from being on the Mattari Camp book cover.

The best moment for me was when the group visited the top of Mt. Hachibuse, where the sunset scenery in front of them looked simply stunning. Soigne are doing an excellent job with this anime so far in both the character animation and how pretty the background art is with virtually every scene. This series couldn't be in better hands, that's for sure.

@Tirinchas I thought I was stupid for not noticing Ena's cameo, but they really didn't put her in the episode D:

I had a lot of fun watching this episode. ^_^ The girls traveled on many different locations for sensei's manga references while they're all doing their own cute things. 😍 The Yuru Camp vibes are strong in this series but much more peppy and upbeat. The sunset view from the top of Mt. Hachibuse was so breathtaking and beautiful.

I was so delighted to see Yuru Camp cameos here! 😆 No way I couldn't recognize the girls. Almost missed Oogaki. I found a girl riding a scooter and that's definitely Shima Rin especially that facial expression. Inuko and her imouto were walking outside at night. Then I also found Nadeshiko jumping down the stairs wearing summer clothes. It was quite rare for me to see Nadeshiko wearing summer clothing because they were always wearing jackets or their winter uniforms in the series. I thought I missed Ena-chan and Chikuwa, but it turns out they weren't given any cameos at all... As for that Mattari Camp cover, that's Ena-chan in the cover, right? So that counts, I guess?

I want more episodes like this where the girls are traveling some more and recording videos along the way. 😁

@Tirinchas As your post, she is lazily lying at home as usual, with Chikuwa, of course. So no cameo for her lol

Even as someone that hasn’t seen Yuru Camp, I could tell this episode was basically a huge callback to it lol, it was cool seeing the characters from that series appearing throughout the episode along with what I’m guessing are locations that are also in Yuru Camp. Very nice stuff, but I’m ngl I kinda wish they woulda held off till near the end for an episode like this, was the author afraid the series couldn’t stand on its own two legs without tickling that nostalgia bone?

This is a small complaint tho, episode was still amazing even in the context of Mono, I enjoyed the hell out of watching the girls go on an adventure through the mountainous region, lots of cute and hilarious moments, I especially loved the haunted passing bit and everyone falling asleep and ending up at the wrong place lol, I just did a lot of driving myself today so it’s very felt. Best moment of all tho had to be the final bit at the summit of Mt. Hachibuse, it was incredibly beautiful and I loved Satsuki’s reaction, just the feeling of getting lost in a view like that, absolutely taking your attention away from anything else, and then there’s Haruno ready to go lol, there’s something relatable about both reactions to such a moment.

@kamil88

The in-universe camping manga is called Mattari Camp (Relaxing Camp) so it's technically different than Yuru Camp.
Plus it would be odd if the Yuru Camp girls were both real people and fictional manga characters in this universe.

Again, the JKs are so boring. The real MC must be the mangaka...

This show really need some Yuru Camp cameos? So without them, the show would be bland? Are you that scared, Author-san?

Great episode, loved the references to Yuru camp. The "horror" segment was also greatly done.

Also Haru is so fun, she is my favorite character from the show.

Appreciated the cameos, of course. Actually what made me want to catch up to this point since I saw them mentioned on a post in the Yuru Camp subreddit.

That said, after watching the first three episodes, I feel like this show isn't standing up very well on its own. I think I would've been really bored this ep if I hadn't watched Yuru Camp. It's not a bad show, per se, and definitely has some good visual shots (first episode - night sky & third episode - mountain sunset/eye close-up). But it just feels so bland for like 80% of the plot. I think the main issue is that only Haruno feels decently interesting as a character. The main club members just don't have much going on to engage the audience, but they are also supposed to be the main focus of the story. Hard to describe, but so far it's felt like a lot of just "things happening" without conveying the human *feeling* of doing those things like Yuru Camp did so well. And the characters' interactions with each other feel shallow somehow. I'd probably give the series a 7/10 so far.

I think this is a very bland show after 3 episodes. Yuru Camp is so much better. There's no way this show can improve all that much with this cast of characters. Even the mountain climbing anime had better characters.

I expect the next anime from the author will feature a trip to visit locations from Mono, with Mono characters making cameo appearances

As a Yuru Camp fan, the fact that this episode includes visits to iconic locations from that story was incredibly exciting! Once again, I must say that hearing Aoi Koga, Ueda Reina, Tono Hikaru, and Mikawa Haruna all in the same anime is magnificent, music to my ears.

Such a fun way to do a callback to YuruCamp in this episode. We got to see our 4 and a half main girls and the "real" locations they're at. Timing of the source manga makes sense since the first season of YC was set to air in 2018 when this was first getting written

I enjoyed the first two episodes but for some reason, this episode bored me. There's no purpose other than sight seeing because of Haruno's manga pilgrimage. It could have been like an episode of Zatsu Tabi but the execution is so-so. Perhaps I like it better when this show is about photography rather than doing too random of nonsense.

Being a big Yuru Camp fanboy and having had the opportunity to visit the locations of Yuru Camp, this episode was the best of both worlds. Great Yuru Camp cameos and reliving said visited locations. Such a funny, cute episode! The most hilarious part of the episode was the infinite-fuel car, which somehow don't require any kind of refueling, apparently.

The car aside, glad Haruno developed her driving skills, both 4 safety reasons and 4 the pilgrimage. About the pilgrimage, really happy for Haruno since she was able to accomplish her goal of visiting all the manga places in real life, whether that was for references to assist her manga or for other purposes.

Haruno aside, I don’t get why she brought the cinephoto club with her, but I guess they got some good pictures and videos using their cameras as well. So, all’s well that ends well. Loved the episode! Excited for what the girls are going to show us or do for us from this point onwards!

Yuru camp ♡

I really loved this episode. The best one so far!
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

OMG this episode cracked me up with the random cameos and callbacks. Hilariously shameless.

Wonder why they changed the name of the manga (on the volume she held up) though? Does someone else own the anime rights to the name?
