The soundtrack is so good! And what Heiter said about heaven is beautiful. I can't help but to smile when Frieren called ern her mother lol.

It's odd how many traits I share with Frieren. Maybe I can live almost forever too.

@silent_lurker Welcome to anime. Staying long?

Besides, are character introductions and development not important? I guess I'd have to disagree, then. Characters and their interactions are approx. half of every anime. Can't expect the final boss in every episode. Seems like any anime would instantly be made super lame if you didn't know anything about the characters or how they met etc. Even with top-tier animation.

It is going to be a very long journey then, if it takes 10 years to get to the demon kings place so Frieren could talk to Himmel.
I think Eisen is a good hero, he is quite calm and he says big words what have meanings in them.

I accidentally messed up my review of episode 3, so I’ll include that too.

Episode 3: It’s interesting to see the orphan girl grow up… which makes me worry for the future of the anime.

Episode 4: Finally seeing the dwarf again was nice, but I hope Frieren’s attitude changes by the end. Poor Fern.

I hate this show soo soo much. It's like all the ingredients but writing is there. The characters most especially the main are just not written with consistency enough for me to praise I'm sorry. It feels like the author slapped an archetype on her and forgot that how they interact is also part of storytelling.

So now we officially have an end goal for the series, but it really feels like it’s going to be a long, long journey before we ever get there. I’m honestly really curious whether Frieren will actually get the chance to speak to Himmel again. Part of me wants to believe it’ll happen, and part of me thinks the show might take a more bittersweet route.

There are some parallels between Himmel and Fern, I hope she will be a life lesson for Frieren

@kuilherme I actually finished the show like a week ago. I haven't updated it, even though it says "Dropped" on episode 4. For real, there's no character development, as Frieren is already a peak character. You can't develop a character that's already OP and has lived over thousands of years.

''It doesn't matter if heaven exists or not, because I think it should exist'' Heiter's ideas and philosophy about religion and faith are honestly pretty interesting, it's so simple and yet so profound, even after finishing the entire season I still occasionally think about it.

Another great episode!

Frieren is not a morning person huh? She's just like me fr. They took quite a long time to clean the shore but it was worth it cause they got to see a nice sunrise. Those do be hitting hard as hell. Eisen seems to be alive and kicking and together with Heiter seemed to be planning to try and ease some of her regrets. What considerable friends. It seems now they are heading to a place for Frieren to see Himmel again.

This show is absolutely worth being at the top for a reason. The depth and story telling is how stories need to be written.

What an episode, must be the best since episode 1. But I've been loving all of the episodes so far.
Now Frieren has got a goal in her journey: go to Aureole and speak with her long-passed friend Himmel.
However, before reaches that land of Aureole, she and her friends must pass through Ende, where is located the Demon King's Castle.
And that place is very cold, because is at the northern most of the continent, but Frieren is already moaning she doesn't want to go...
Maybe she needs some rest before they reach there. After all, it will be a 10-year long journey, even though for Frieren is only a mere 10-year adventure.
The other characters seems also great, with Fern being a good apprentice of Frieren and the latter is being more and more a good master of her.
It's amazing to see their relationship evolving for the better. They really look after each other, which is so nice to see.

I like that with every episode, we get to know Frieren a little more. We get to see her regrets and how she's actively trying to not make the same mistake. It's clever how they also tie a bit of Frieren's history in there as well. I think I rather like the use of the flashbacks that tie into that moment of the story.

The sunrise --- I coudln't even properly appreciate a sunset in real life---it's just work, work, work. I'm learning valuable lessons from this show: appreciate the ittle things in life. Anyway, onto the show itself: cleaning the beach! Awesome: doing some charity work. In addition to that, meeting up with Eisen because he's the only remaining living member of the Hero's Party other than Frieren. We have our mission: Aureole. Flamme, the human master of Frieren, looks mature. Well, she sounds mature thanks to her voice actress. As of episode 4, we have our objective: go to the Ende, the Demon's Castle, because that's where Frieren can talk to Himmel again. On the surface, this looks like a chillax anime. But, the darker themes are deep within. Eisen and Fern praising Frieren as a good master says everytihng about Frieren despite her flaws. What can we expect? She has lived through the paleonthilic or prehistoric age. She's ancient and old despite her youthful appearance.
