A woman is getting beaten with a hammer in the middle of the street, nobody's doing anything, and those drone-scanners or whatever they are aren't doing anything either [actually they are, they are measuring HER stress??? and telling her to go to therapy???] and people are clearly seeing that the system isn't doing it's job yet they still feel safe??? What kind of bullshit is this lol And just like that, with a bit of help of some helmet the whole justice system will be shut down. And that story "you can't blame the bystanders for not reporting anything, they can't even imagine something like this happening before their eyes" honestly makes me side with the villain, they deserve a fucking upheaval and a period of anarchy. | all those bystanders watching the guy murder that woman in such a gruesome way, and all they can do is film it at best, sounds so dystopian but then you remember that it's not actually that different from the world we already live in :p |

| This episode continues the pattern of some brilliant ideas and themes being covered in a comically edgy tone and some questionable logic and dialogue. Did they really have to show the murderer killing a helpless civilian by stabbing him in the mouth with scissors and slamming his head down on the table? Or repeatedly caving in a woman's skull while her clothes are ripped off? The scene is definitely striking and got me thinking about the idea of the public becoming unable to process or understand a violent crime. But I also understand that a lot of viewers found the scene completely ridiculous. "Wait a minute Ginoza, if our dominators won't work on them, aren't we basically unarmed?" "Focus on what we need to do, let's go!" Sigh... Yeah. What's that supposed to mean? Maybe it's poor translation? But what else could he have said? They've seen a confrontation go horribly wrong just recently, when Akane couldn't use her dominator. They haven't solved the problem or even understood the problem, really. What's gonna be different this time? He could've said, "go after him, we'll figure something out while you get there" or "try to subdue the suspect without using the dominator, I'll take full responsibility." But no, it's "shut up, we have to do the chase scene now, because that's what happens in police shows." |
