Synopsis

Kaoru Terazaki is a young boy who uses a female character in an online game. He usually plays with a virtual friend who goes by the username Nanami and uses a male avatar. Kaoru has been lying about his identity, and the two will soon meet in real life for the first time. When the day finally arrives, they realize that their expectations are quite different from reality.

Contrary to Kaoru's expectations, Nanami turns out to be a girl. With their genders revealed, they are both in shock—especially Nanami. She has already told her enthusiastic mother and overprotective father about her female friend coming to their house. Consequently, Nanami comes up with an idea to mask Kaoru's true gender: crossdressing! Even though their friendship started with lies, this odd meetup marks the beginning of their unusual bond.

“I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.”

This quote perfectly describes how I felt upon reading the final chapter of this series. When a manga stays with you for over five years, its conclusion inevitably leaves behind a sense of emptiness provided that it ends on a good note. This is one of those rare series that manages to do exactly that.

After reading hundreds of manga, one truth becomes painfully clear: endings are hard. Very few series manage to conclude in a way that feels truly satisfying. This one however, does something special. It ...

What was meant to be a random read became meaningful. The story is a simple as it gets, real life meet up between gamers. Development wise it's slow and steady, yet the romance does build up. Over a span of 200+ chapters, you witness character development with real changes. Where simple kindness, consideration, care, evolves into love from gradual feelings.

The most valuable aspect of this series, relies on the realistic setting. There are no hyper bole traits or events, and the characters are about as regular as anyone else. All you get is normal interactions which adds to the fine lining of the series. Even ...

*RAPID REVIEW*

It's a low 5/10.

As a huge gaming fan who hasn't played video games for 3 years as of now, I was quite disappointed with this manga. It just turns out to be a very standard and quite boring romcom. The manga does do some unique things, like dealing with the Hikikomori lifestyle and how it effects the people around them. Those parts are the best part of the manga.

But for the most part, it's a normal romcom with a lot of crossdressing and barely any actual gaming. I like Traps, but I wanted gaming. There hasn't been a manga or anime yet that ...
