Minor plot spoilers.
Many mangas have the concept of wish-fulfillment in their story telling and plot line, but this manga is the closest material I’ve ever read taking that ideal on a whole new level. To be exact, not only is the plot line clearly based on a huge, overnight glow-up, but there’s numerous of plot developments and arcs that scream the cursed words of “wish fulfillment.”
The plot is somewhat unique with the whole childhood friend ex concept, however, the plot is bare and dry after the premise has extended its use. Most of the chapters go like this: “The main character is soooo cute
...
and good at everything; wow, the childhood friend is such a horrible person.” There are some tweaks and kinks in the general plot line, but every single chapter has followed that same formula, which just gets boring.
The characters are as expected: They are all boring and one-dimensional. There are tons of self-inserted characters for the sake of having characters and plot development, each of them are the epitome of shallowness.
Besides for the manipulative ex-girlfriend premise, this manga doesn’t stray away or do much different from the usual glow-up mangas. Instead, it could be arguable that it’s a tier below, but at least the first chapter was good.
