Damn, it's really been 3 years since Domestic Girlfriend ended?

Sasuga-sensei is back at it again with Can I Live With You? If you love Domestic Girlfriend for the entertaining garbage truck that was on fire and strapped to a rocket that it was, than you should check this out.

Story premise isn't as crazy as Domestic Girlfriend, follows a guy down on his luck who happens upon a cheap apartment at an All-Girl's building. Skipping over how they eventually let him live there, the story follows the wacky scenarios Hiromi can get with the 5 girls. This premise seems pretty normal, but things quickly become hot ... and steamy. We've had plenty of titties in the 7 chapters currently released.

Domestic Girlfriend did have it's serious moments, and though we're only 7 chapters in, hints of that serious tone has shown itself. For instance, some of the girls have some uncomfortable pasts. The story has barely started, but I can see it having more serious and emotional moments down the line. Don't take my advice though, I'm a little bitch. Hell, I cried while reading Domestic Girlfriend.

Anyways, I really jumped the gun by making this review 7 chapters in, lol. If you enjoyed the dumpster fire that was Domestic Girlfriend, you'll probably enjoy this. If you genuinely liked Domestic Girlfriend (Don't you dare check my score for it), you'll probably like this as well.

Overall: 9/10. I can't wait to see how this ends, lol.

Sasuga Kei mangas are my guilty pleasure. I've read pretty much everything she has published even though all of it kinda sucks. This is not the exception. Characters are always shallow, plot twists make no sense, the story seems to be constantly rambling for no reason... but still, it always feels so digestible and easy to read that I keep coming back for more.

I know it's bad. I know I shouldn't like it. It even pisses me off sometimes (the way Sasuga Kei keeps bringing up serious/disturbing topics such as child abuse, drug overdose, suicide, domestic abuse... just for 1,2 or maybe half a ... chapter to then conclude that everything is fine and go back to silly romance). But I still enjoy it somehow. It may be shit, but it is my shit. And it is fine to enjoy and like shit. We should accept that things are not good just because we like them. No one can seriously say Issho ni Kurashite Ii desu ka? is a good manga, but you can definetely enjoy it.

Long story short: give it a shot if you have read Good Ending and/or Domestic na Kanojo and you liked them. Stay away if you didn't. It's more of the same. Not better, not worse, it is just more of the same.

God, this story is so bland — there’s nothing exciting about the plot or characters, and the writing is so poor that every conversation, exposition, and introduction feels like a boring info-dump clouded with awkwardness.

Considering I’ve read a pornwha with nearly the same plotline as this manga, the plot isn’t the most unique. However, this does differ by having all of the characters and events seem out of place and forgotten, only remembered whenever the author wants to introduce a new storyline. Yes, that’s right, this manga has a worse plot-line than a f*cking pornwha. Admittedly, it’s my favorite one of all time, however, it’s ... still a pornwha.

Events left open-ended, transition of character development to another — the writing in this is so poor. The mangaka has absolutely zero idea on when to or not to start another’s character exposition, creating an awkward sense of flow in the manga’s overall story. Even whenever the characters are “developed,” the developments are incredibly forced while the other heroines have virtually no impact or influence on the story, which is where most harems mess up.

When a harem has non-memorable characters and an average at best plot line, it’s utter trash. There are some attempts here and there to make the manga seem more serious than it already is, however, every single attempt has been so out of place and forced that it becomes laughable instead of emotional; even for a harem, this has low-level writing.
