LOL to this day i can't understand why the tchê tchererê song went viral outside of brazil. it is so bad. but i cracked up when you mentioned it hahahaha. 😄 there are some brazilian metal/rock bands that are considerably well-known internationally, like Sepultura and Angra. they sing in english though. Kadıköy seems fun, i hope i get to visit there someday. thx for the tips =)

I still love Gen 4 and 5 the most tbh, I played all the main entries but never finished the expenstions for Sword/Shield and Scarlet/Violet, I really just prefer 2D over 3D when it comes to Pokemon I think...

Antalya is one of my dream destinations for a nice relaxing vacation tbh, I'd also love to visit Italy and Greece, maybe should have done that when I still lived in Europe xD

Yes, it IS complicated. I think they also only taught us the basics because it was a 1 hour lesson only. Samisen also interests me but I sadly didn't find any affordable lessons in my area. Kimono ARE nice but just unpractical when you need to use the toilet, I had to use the toilet so badly after the tea ceremony and had to wait like 2 hours until they took off my kimono 😭

It's festival season rn! My friend is taking me to the lesson to learn the traditional dance for this year's festival! The festival itself is in the first week of August I think but we'll start learning the dance in July already to be prepared.

The 2nd entry also has strong summer vibes because imo so might be the perfect time to play! I recently restarted playing animal crossing wild world on my DS of all things, never got warm with new horizons so going back to playing the older entries.

True..and maybe Ankara and Antalya. At least those are the famous travel destinations I know of which get promoted in Germany. Well expensive and crowded sounds just like Tokyo 😭 Never heard of Izmir before but just from googling I'm getting really intersted!

It's pretty complicated to explain every step but there are rules for EVERYTHING. For example you are only allowed to turn clockwise no matter what you do. There is a technique how you have to hold the zabuton (cushion) and how to walk with it. Rules with which foot to enter and leave the praying space. Then how you have to sit, where your hands have to go, the position of your head and where you're supposed to look...it sounds like a alot but many rules felt pretty natural to me and were easy to follow. Once you sit down and the actual meditation is starting it's a really relaxing. I also got told I have an exellent posture (maybe because of my previous job xD) and can see me going there again for another session.

Which traditional art or practice would you want to try? I also took part in traditional tea ceremonies, wore kimono, did ikebana and lots of other stuff but I can understand if not everyone wants to try all of those

i wonder what brazilian artists you've come across hahaha. what genres are you into?
if you ever come to Brazil, i'd highly recommend visiting Rio for the beaches and natural scenery, and São Paulo if you're into art, music and nightlife. both are culturally dynamic and diverse anyway
what would you recommend in Türkiye?

Don't worry about it, I sometimes end up replying pretty late myself when I get busy. I'd really recommend going back to the mystery dungeon games, especially the first two entries, also has some of my favourite OSTs btw! Without big spoilers the track for the final main story dungeon in the first mystery dungeon is one of my faourites!

I don't think Münster is very well known outside of Germany sadly, it's probably like this in any country, most know the bigger and more tourist-y cities. I think it's a mixed bag with turks. Some people lump them together with all other immigrants and end up having a bad view but many also see them as a part of Germany at this point because they were the first bigger immigrants together with people from Poland. My mother's side of the family immigrated to Germany in 1970 and my grandpa worked together with a lot of Turkish people and we have a pretty good relationship to them. I also had several Turkish friends back during my school time.

I think back when it was mainly Turkish and Polish immigrants they were seen a bit more negatively but overtime they became more integrated and now the hate shifted a bit to the newer immigrants. It's really just my personal opinion and a difficult topic.

To switch to a nicer topic again..I did a zazen session yesterday for the first time and it was such a nice experience.

I got introduced to AA by my boyfriend at that time, he was a HUGE fan, I never had heard about it before either. I'm def. team Edgeworth too haha. I often listen to Pokemon OSTs while working or playing other games! I also looooove the mystery dungeon games and their music, did you play any pokemon spin offs?

Damn...this is pretty sad especially since they are given shelter and support for free. Japan barely has any refugees, I met a couple from Ukraine but Japan rarely takes any refugees because we don't have much space here and sending them all to the countryside doesn't work either...

I lived close to Köln, been there numerous times! Really worth visiting but I prefer Münster over Köln, it's a bit smaller but has a rich history and tons of old curches and cathedrals :3 Germany also has some nature rich places like the Eifel or Schwarzwald which I really love
Laatorii Jun 4, 2025 4:13 AM
It's been AGES since I played the original AA trilogy omg, played it back when I was in Serbia during my last summer vacation and had no internet so I spent every evening just playing on my 3DS, I love these games!

I grew up with pokemon red and blue (feel free to call me old lol), my dad gifted them to me and my sister! She got red, I got blue and I stil own my original copy :3

We had a lot of refugees in Germany too in my area, even had 2 families move into our apartment complex but they were really nice and chill. I did hear that some can cause some trouble tho so it's probably not as peaceful with so many...

I'd looove to visit China, Hong Kong and Taiwan since I also know mandarin and soon wanna tackle learning Cantonese now that I am fluent in Japanese and don't acively study it anymore. I never liked German food to begin with so I always every ate slavic and asian food at home, getting used was no problem. The problem was once I came back to Germany to visit my family for a few weeks and NOT having all my Japanese food xD I actually prefer Udon and Soba over Ramen but Ramen really just tastes different here :o

Do you know where in Germany? There are a lot of nice places but sadly the place I was born it is the most population dense region in Germany and barely has any nature...
Laatorii Jun 3, 2025 1:21 AM
I am sooo bad with crowds but I wanna visit anyway T_T

Tokyo is horrible to live in, true. You pay like triple of what I pay for rent and get a apartment half as small as mine in a bad location and it's not even always true that you earn more money in Tokyo either...
I prefer being able to go to Tokyo if I really want to in 2-3 hours but not having to live there and also not having to deal with all the tourists.

I mostly play RPGs but I'm also into rhythm games, simulation game, horror games and read visual novels from time to time. Lately I've been playing Monster Hunter Wilds and the Oblivion remake. What about you?

I am half German and half Serbian, born and raised in Germany but I spent about 1/3 of every year in Serbia until I started university. I also lived in Poland for about 2 years because my ex worked and lived there and I lived there during the pandemic when I had remote classes. But out of all the countries I lived in Japan really is the best!

I think teenagers can be REALLY mean and it's a time where you are also very vulnerable to bullying.
Once I switched my departments at university I was SO relieved and felt like I finally had fun again. I went back to playing games and watching anime almost daily and stopped trying to be "normal".
I am not sure if I would have ever dared it if not for the support of my parents.

Ohhh I wanna travel to Instanbul soo badly, I met a Turkish exchange student from there who came to Japan and she was soooo sweet and I love seeing her posting picture from Instanbul on Instagram. I think my daily life here is also pretty boring haha. I don't live in the Tokyo area, I am in a very quiet neighbourhood right next to a shrine and the ocean, almost 20 minutes away from the town's center by bus. I am really trying to embrace the peaceful life here!

I'd LOVE seeing Ado live but all the concerts are always so far away, I think the closest ones are in like Shizuoka or Sendai and getting there takes half a day. I am in Tokyo in 2-3 hours if I take the Shinkansen but to be honest I am not the biggest fan of the Tokyo area, waaaaaaay to busy for me. Which one do you prefer? Tokyo/Bigger cities or more peaceful places?

I studied philosophy for a while and I failed my logic and ethics exam both because of the math sections xd Hope you don't struggle with it as much as me...

Ohhh! I love Pokemon, too. I even have 2 Pokemon tattoos hehe. I've got a lot of Pokemon and other merch in my apartment that I collected since I came here. :3
Hmm...I ended up here permanently by happenstance, really.

I was unhappy with studying philosophy (and comparative literature). I didn't know what I wanted to do with it in the future. That was back at a time where I wasn't too sure about liking Japan and anime because I got bullied for it a bunch back in high school and tried to be more "normal". So I also didn't really watch any anime until about 2017 again.

My parents are both HUGE nerds, especially my dad, he's a movie geek and gamer and the one who got me into it. My mum got me into anime and pokemon and both said to do what I REALLY like. So I switched to studying east asian culture and languages, chose Japanese as my first language and Mandarin as my second.

My university requires you to do 6months overseas in JP/CH/TW/KR but it got delayed in my case due to the pandemic. So I finished all my other courses before going. I first thought I just stay those 6 months, come back, finish my degree and work somewhere in Germany but I fell in love with Japan (and especially Niigata) at first sight.

Talked a lot with my prof who even managed to get me a scholarship and extend my stay to 18 months on that scholarship which was unheard of until now. I am the first person at our university to ever do that. And I got permission to finish my degree in Japan IF I manage to get a job to switch my visa once I graduate. And well...I obviously managed to do just that!

Currently I am still working part time only because my graduation thesis isn't 100% done yet and I need my graduation papers to switch to my hummanities visa but I got a job and everything that's just waiting for me to sign the fulltime contract.

All of this wouldn't have been possible if not for my parents who made me do what I really enjoy and also support me financially (moving here isn't cheap) and ofc my prof who went the extra mile to make me the first person to ever just not come back from a exchange program. Sorry for all the rambling but it's such a wild story for me and I still can't really believe it someimes...

If you like rainy weather you'd be perfect up here haha, we have some of the worst weather in all of Japan. I have so much respect for anyone studying anything related to maths and/or IT, stuff like this just refuses to enter my brain ;-;

My favourite thing is probably how smooth and organised everything is plus not everything being closed on Sundays like in Europe. The strangest thing is huh...maybe that everyone here is so obssessed with mascot characters? Like everything from the local law office to the random shop around the corner has it's own mascot character. And the TONS of seasonal/limited flavors for certain food items that change every few weeks. rn it's matcha and strawberry flavored EVERYHING in a few weeks it'll probably be melon and ramune and the muskat grapes in late summer etc.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
