Originally, the protagonist of Death Note was a boy named Taro Kagami. He accidentally used the notebook to kill several schoolmates who were bullying him.

However, with the deaths of the children, Kagami was left with great remorse for his actions. Upon observing the young man's suffering, Ryuk felt sorry for him and handed him the Death Rubber so that he could bring his colleagues back to life.

Fun fact, when I started watching anime, I avoided watching subtitled anime (I really hated it) and the first subtitled anime I started watching was soon darling in the fraxx, which made me hate watching subtitled anime, but nowadays I got over it and I love watching subtitled anime, but I still have a little trouble following the subtitles (including fights animes) but I hope to improve this

Fact about Demon slayer:
The detail where Tanjiro always faces the left side (from our perspective) indicating that it means "You live", Uzui faces the left, which means he will live and he did. While Rengoku faces the right side, which is the opposite. In Akeboshi, the front color of tanjiro is yellow, while Rengoku is blue. Blue is the same color used in the realm everyone goes to right after they die. (Seen on Rui, Gyutaro and Daki)

Well, I hear and read good reviews about these mangas and I would probably buy them and I find their story interesting even though I haven't watched some of these animes but I know a little bit about their history
