Recommendation Club Newsletter~Holiday Edition

As we enter into one of the busiest times of the year, we here at the Recommendation Club would like to extend our wishes for each and every one of you to have a wonderful holiday season!

Since the September newsletter, our club has gained many new members, and seen the return of old ones. We would like to keep the momentum going, and with our member list now at 3,111, that should be no problem at all! ^_^.

We would like all of our members, old and new, to help keep this an active, and fun club, a place to Chat and to seek out recommendations in our General anime and General Manga thread as well as the specific anime genre threads, such as Drama and Romance and Sci-fi and many others as well.

It’s a great place to make new friends, or renew past friendships, and we urge all of our members to drop by, and post in the various threads and comment section, as well as share you expertise with other members.

We look forward to seeing you all here !

News:

With the fall season upon us, the club has not been as active recently with our members being busy with work, school, and the other things life throws our way, but we here at the Recommendation Club want to let all of our members know that we haven't gone anywhere! We welcome you all to drop by, and say hello to old friends, or make new ones. We have a large member-list, and we would like to see all of you joining in, and sharing, your anime and manga knowledge with the club!

Loads of new members join all the time, either wanting recommendations, or eager to share their expertise with others, so don't be shy, and join right in! Like to chat? Well we have a thread just for that. New to our club or like to greet others? Check out our Intro thread. Looking for a new anime to watch or manga to read? Head on over to our General Recommendation Thread. Don't see what you want to know? Please feel free to make new threads to get your burning questions asked, or just join in with the others in the comments section!

We are currently seeking help with our member cards, so if you feel like lending a hand in this area you are more than welcome!

oh...yeah, that was my top anime since that was the first anime I watch when I went up to college ^_^
Everyday I watch anime and read manga. I mostly spend 6 hours plus...its just a hobby.

News and Request for Help

Our club is almost one year old and we'll be most likely celebrating it with lots of specials and contests, so you might wanna check out the club at least once every few days as something new might appear in the horizon. :D

We noticed that while the member count keeps growing by day, we aren't exactly as active as we should be. It would be nice to see more and more people chatting in the comments or in the chat thread. I'd like to mention that a chat thread in our club gets closed after a comment or so is made on page 50. I'd like to get this one closed so we can start one anew in our next club year. Thanks in advance.

I'd also be glad if you introduced yourself in our special threads or warmly welcome our new members that have posted there. Also, if you have any trouble deciding what anime you want to watch or if you want to help others, take a look at the recommendation thread and post there.

If anyone is willing to make member cards, just post the templates in this thread or pm them to me. If you have made some other kind of graphic for the club you can post it in the comments or, again, pm it to me.

Hello!! I was watching your anime favorites and I like your style jaja... anyway I think you share some of my favorite anime... I don't have so much time right now too much work!! but I woud like some good happy anime just to relax what would you recommend?

Awww, I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier! I've been REALLY busy... I'm studying all the time now, not even watching anime as exams are finally next week. GCSEs are final exams after the secondary school in England, you need to pass at least 5 of them to get into a college. Unfortunately for me all colleges in my area were ranked "outstanding" this year and so many people from all over the country applies to them I'll have to get at least 7 GCSEs to get into one. It sucks because at my current level school won't even let me take so many exams and now I have to show I'm actually ready to improve and work hard. And because I've fucked everything up last year by missing over 30% of school time what caused being kicked out I have to do all the courseworks over again...

Yeah, there's no halloween. As you know for sure, Poland is a very religious country and instead of having fun on that day everyone goes to the cementary to pray for dead people or something. No costumes or candies at all T^T

Thanks for believing in me, I promise to do my best :] I can't afford any private lessons of Japanese especially when the nearest tutor is like 2hrs away by the train from my city. And at the college you can only do lessons online but it's still better than nothing. So apart from it I'm thinking about taking an Art, Philosoply and Archeology as they might help me into getting on the Japanese course at the University. Weird o.o

Lol, you have my full respect! I've never expected an anime fan to be so smart. Actually you might be one of the smartest people I've ever talked to! But no wonder since you've studied so well. Congratulations :*

England is always raining and I'm literally dying when walking to school. For example today the weather was pretty nice when I've left the house but after like 5mins it was horribly raining so I didn't took an umbrella or sweater with me. My hair, shoes and school uniform were so wet it took me 2 lessons to dry a little bit. And then it was sunny again all day until the school was over and it started raining again just so that I could get wet again =\

There will be OVA of HoTD soon, I can't wait... I didn't have a chance to watch Samurai 7 yet but maybe I'll give it a chance too if you'll say it's good :]

Not really. There's only one convention in the North East where I live and it took place this June for the very first time. It was pretty popular so there's a chance more will be organized soon. And there's only one real otaku-ish store too but it's 2hrs away from my city and I didn't have a chance to go there yet. Still there are 2 nice stores nearby where I can get few anime goods so it's not that bad. I'm sure there's something in your close area too, you just have to look around a little bit :)

I'm so glad you're listening to DIRu now! They were one of my first jrock bands and they're still one of my favs. I was so happy finding their album in my local HMV and I still believe it was a miracle. Too bad when they played in Poland I was in England with no chance of getting there, and when they played in England I was on holidays in Poland T^T
