Wow that is a crazy coincidence! 😯 How far are you along Galaxy Express 999 with the TV series? The OVA was such a nice treat, even though it did have to rush through certain scenarios it was very entertaining nonetheless. Seeing Tetseros' mom hanging on that mantle always stuck with me. It was at that point I was like yep this definitely ain't kids stuff! Hahaha!

No worries, it's all good! Honestly my profile bio is pretty bloated, I often times forget what I wrote on it myself. Hahaha! 🤣 Oh my gosh somebody who actually remembers Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi! 🤩 Seems like I hardly hear anybody talk about that cartoon anymore. I used to love the live action segments they had at the end, and the fact that they would throw in Japanese words sprinkled in with the story. I even played some of the games on the GBA which were pretty decent. Cartoon Network was so choke full of charm back then! Did you also like Teen Titans? That opening theme song always gets stuck in my head. 🤣

Gosh, if I were to pick one certain anime that got me into the genre it probably would be Galaxy Express 999. It's actually a 113 episode anime that came out in the 1970s, however I watched the OVA movie that was made in the 80s. It really made me realize what Japanese animation was and how much more adult in themes that could be compared to traditional cartoons, which a lot of animation was seen as back then. Now thanks to series such as The Simpsons and Bob's Burger that's no longer a thing anymore thankfully.

Oh I'll bet it was truly a breathtaking experience for you! Especially when you compare the rest of the 2D art from most other regions, it just can't compare to the detail that you find in anime out there. I live in the US and boy let me tell you, I really miss hand drawn 2D animation so much. That's where this hobby definitely fills the void. Did you know that it was animation from Japan when you first saw it, or is this something that you stumbled across later?

As for me the first time I ever watched anime was through three different series that were airing on TV at the time when I was a child. They were called Superbook, Flying House and Grimm's Fairy Tale Adventures. At the time I just assumed they were American cartoons. It wasn't until I started watching anime on the Sci-fi channel in the mid-90s that they directly called them Japanese animation. I feel like I got baten switched at the time! Mind = blown! 🤣

Of course! Cheers to our new friendship! 🤗 Yes Wolf Children really brought on those heavy emotions, but in a good way, I'm not going to lie a part of me was tearing up during certain moments.
