Heyjaye's list of must watch series:
This is a list of anime series that I believe every modern anime fan should watch at least once in a lifetime. This list is by no means "the best anime of all time" or "the most popular anime", but rather a list that I think best encapsulates the sphere of anime as a whole. While most of these are exceptional examples of representing the best in their respective genres, others were selected for their uniqueness or the influence they've had on the medium. Lastly, although I did not personally love all of these, each selection was memorable. No, I do not remember every single plot point and detail, but rather the impression I felt after completing it. I knew that I had finished watching something special and that I would never see anything quite like it again. Thank you for checking it out!

I can relate to the forgetting and updating thing after seeing so much lol.
And sure haha, after going through your list, the only shows that I've seen that I think you might like are 91 days because you liked Baccano. Also, Undead Unluck and Sonny Boy because you liked My Hero Academia.
It was fun searching through your list and seeing where our tastes align, some of my favs you didn't enjoy which is all good but it was funny cause I definitely agree with some of your other ratings. Anyway, hope this helps lol :)
Sounds intersting. As for me yes, my first exam is scheduled on Friday. Will be a tough schedule till next Friday, then it become more lax thankfully. Thanks for the wishes. :D
As I said don't worry, take your time. No one rushes us xD.
Yes I was happier with how I performed on the last one, since it was a more difficult subject. Now eagerly awaiting Easter to take a break from all those classes.
Haven't thought of it that way. Up to last year I had managed my life quite nicely when it comes to uni but this year I can't say the same xD. Now I also start to feel that way towards it.
The premise of it yes, he thought of it while he was drunk.
It is more or less the same for everyone I think, when it comes to the older users of MAL. You can't be super active forever but it is still great to get in touch with people every now and then. For once I was happy to see you remembered me when Fate came to mind, haha. :D
Yes, I completely understand that and I am also of the same mindset. That's the reason I play a couple of VNs every year and not more. I would love to, they are great to read but I would have to take time from my other hobbies and I wouldn't like my daily routine to be one sided as you said.
Got a 70/100 on that one so more on the good side I guess in the end. Just glad it is over, since he was the most difficult to understand professor. Now for the 2nd most annoying to go out in my next midterm on Tuesday and I will be a happy man for a while, before the finals xD.
Ah I see, I also had those networking seminars. Also didn't take part in them for the same reasons. I think those would be more beneficial if they happened after you graduated (or near that point at least). With all those lessons and studying, none can bother enough to follow them I think. That way the employer would have a guy in front of them who has graduated and they can scout who they want more easily too I would say.
Yes, though that kind of everyday life also had its appealing points, I am glad I have grown to be more productive on my everyday life. Makes you feel better when you go to sleep every day.
There is no doubt HF was a better adaptation when compared to UBW, source material aside. And since you can never be too faithful to a VN (it would break the point of an anime adaptation) Ufo did a great job to handle the HF material on the first 2 movies that I have watched, one scene aside which surprisingly they didn't add and made me wonder why. Will watch the 3rd movie to see if they hinted on it more heavily.
Kara no Kyoukai is a story with many layers. It is not known for its direct approach (Nasu has said himself he had written it while drunk) but it adds more in the atmosphere of the story that way I think. As an anime it gives the necessary information the watcher needs but I'm pretty sure none understood it well in his first watch, except if he was well experienced with Nasuverse works. So yeah, I would definitely recommend a rewatch on those. As far as the LN goes, you will only get crucial info/more depth for the content of the 6th movie. Aside from that, just better distinguishing among the different personalities of Shiki.
Senpai (Kaiton) is a great guy to talk to if you ever need more info regarding Nasuverse. I am sure he will also be happy to be contacted by a friend after a long while. If you go the VN route, there are more works of Nasu you can read and give a try. But VNs require a lot of time, so be mindful of that.
It went ok. Nothing too flashy, but I got the job done xD.
Networking in terms of colleagues or teachers? Working in labs sounds interesting. Hope you find a job that fits your criteria in the future, when the covid situation clears up.
Yeah you lose your energy and sometimes I think, do I really want to spend a rare day when I have free time like this? I feel guilty. xD Back in the days, I only had free time so I didn't put much thought into it but shit changes really fast without us noticing...
Yeah makes sense, I also would have liked HF a lot more than UBW from an anime's perspective. UBW is all about battle of ideals and anime is not the best form to express it, since it is dialogue heavy. You have to get creative in those cases like monogatari did for example. Contrary to HF that has a dark vibe that is easier to adapt and Ufotable knows well how to nail that atmosphere, as seen with Fate Zero in the past. Movie format also helped to not sensor some scenes.
Yeah in HF, Illya has a bigger role than in the other routes. Overall she stole my heart first in Zero when she played with Kiritsugu around Einzbern's castle and ever since it has been a love relationship with an upward trend xD. If only I got a daughter like her (Without the murderous intent lol) I would be happy.
As for more Fate don't know, there are a lot of things to touch upon in VN format but in anime not really. Apocrypha has been rather bad (probably the case for the source material as well), same goes for Fate Extra as far as adaptation goes. Fate/kaleid is more of a cute girls doing cute things series till 2wei herz, in 3rei it becomes more serious and it has a very good movie after that as a matter of fact. Don't know if you have ever considered putting some time in FGO related stuff.
Yes, time flies by quickly for better or worse xD. It is quite a rough year for me, studying more or less all day, but I try not to think too hard about it since summer is on sight and I will get my deversed break then.
It is normal not to get a job on your field immidiately, at least here in Greece. Correct me if I am wrong since it has been a while but wasnt your major or minor (or both) in physics and maths? What kind of job are you aiming for exactly?
Yeah I think more or less the same amount of episodes for me too. I am more of a seasonal anime guy though, so almost all of my watching time goes there. Without schedule I would never watch anything. :( Due to lack of time mostly but yeah, I think I can't bing anymore either even if I did have it.
Yes, I have heard some positive feedbacks from my buddies (even before the BDs) so I was expecting a good execution to the 3rd movie. Glad you also liked it. :D One of the selling points of F/SN is that UBW and HF have totally different progression in Shirou's characters and as you said that it focuses on different supporting cast. In terms of Shirou, UBW is the battle against himself and his ideals, HF follows the path of protecting what he really loves no matter the cost. Personally I love both almost equally (makes you think how a single event can change someone's life ultimately as well as his progression), but if I have to choose I would go with HF due to atmosphere and its important to the universe info regarding the true holy grail etc. As for favourite characters, I will pick Shirou and Gilgamesh from F/SN. No need to talk about my soft point on Illya, right? Should be apparent xD.
Yeah take your time don't worry man. I have a midterm tomorrow so I also won't be totally punctual on my replies.
Lol man indeed, long time no talk. For me more or less a steady ride, trying hard on my studies and hope to end my post graduate program by this time next year. Still strong on the anime font, watching my stuff. How about you?
I haven't watched them yet (I won't for a while, want to do when I am in prime mood) but you are free to talk about anything you want, since I have read the source material.
I had to watch a video to explain the ending since it was confusing at first but once it got explained I realised the ending is a true masterpiece as well as the rest of the series. Part 7 is definitely the best part I hope it gets a really good adaptation. Part 1 and 2 weren't as good as the rest of the series in my opinion. Sword art online was pretty trash even in the first 2 episodes but I'm still going to finish it since I don't like to drop stuff but for now I'm putting it on hold. I think I'm probably going to watch Vinland Saga because season 2 got announced and I heard it was really good.
