What 2003 had was well... the grit of early 2000s experimental anime. They weren't afraid to take risks back in the day. But after 2008 money dried up and they had to play it safe. Which well wasn't a bad idea considering Brotherhood is a fine anime but I feel a lot of creativity died in that year.

I prefer FMA 03 to Brotherhood but I feel it drags on and on after they get the stone. Also the ending was a bunch of wasted potential (should have been season 2 not a movie)
