Say what you want about the games; but if you found out how dark the manga can get, you'd understand were I'm coming from. This series has made a huge impact on the world by being one the most popular series for both adults and children and is still being played to this day. In my case, it was one of the first few sets of anime that I've watched when it began airing in the West. I'm both sad and happy to see the original cast come and go, but it was a nice experience, nonetheless. Also, my favorite Pokémon is Rockruff (and his midday form).
