College student studying TV, the Japanese language, and Japanese society. I started watching anime in late 2022 after being inundated with it for years. Ended up liking it to the point of studying it for college credit.
My reviews and writings are heavily inspired by my mentor, an extremely influential media and culture studies professor. A note with my ratings - I only give 10s to shows that succeed in both sub and English dub.
Sub or dub? Dub. Unless the dub is horrible. I watch in sub because I'm learning the language and culture, and benefit from the exposure. You should watch in whatever you are most comfortable watching in. If that is sub, go for it. But post-2015 dubs have been reeeally good.
