Kabeneri isn’t bad but I think it’s more deserving a high score on the MAL average. Although I’d probably still give it like a 7. I’m really surprised at how low it is considering how great the visuals are, the story is pretty similar to Attack on Titan’s too so I’d think more people would like it… guess I’ll see how it becomes worse eventually.
I was pretty confused when I saw your first comment because you listed Just Because as a 6 but most of the other responses to my review have rated it very highly. I agree with you that the show is not a show meant to be watched actively, there are pleanty of signs that back that point up. For one, the environments lack many defining traits and the characters are roughly animated. I definitely went into it with way too high expectations. You’re right that it’s far from the worst show of the season (that spot is reserved for Ousama Game), I suppose I would like it more if I had gone into it with a passive mindset.
It would have definitely helped the experience if Just Because was dubbed because 9/10 times dubs can make a show more consumable. Right now I’m watching Kabeneri, the pinnicale of passive entertainment, but when I have to read every line of dialogue I can’t help but pick apart the show’s confusing logic. Dubbing Kabeneri would be doing a huge service to any non-japanese speaker.
As for Evil or Live, I wish they turned that nob up more because in the latest ep it has settled into a coherent story and it’s really serious in comparison to the goofiness of the first few eps. I’m also losing a reason to care about it .-. which is sad considering I thought it could be really fun.
Sorry for the broken reply, I kind of responded to things out of order. I also don’t think you’ll attack me, unless you can shoot me through my moniter like Hiro ;-;
Imo, everyone and their mother could create a more compelling story than the one in Just Because. I’m watching it because I think it can get better. I don’t love it but I do love the genre and I want to enjoy it like so many other people seem to.
Also, I’m not sure if my review was what made you upset or not but you seem like you have a lot of anger in you. I really don’t think a review is worth getting so worked up over but I would rather you not take your anger out on me.
My profile comments are open to the public because I hope people can offer some criticism or a even just decent messages. I don’t leave them open for people to go off on angry rants. So please keep it off of mine unless you have something more reasonable to say.
I’m going to delete your other comment… please don’t freak out. 😿
My review of Just Because is based on the first three episodes and there is no way for me to change the amount I've seen in the actual review without entirely deleting it. That’s just how MAL reviews work. I think I stated why the first three episodes bored me, what made them generic, and how they resemble show’s I like much more. Also, I have seen the latest episode and I still dislike the show, but the reasons why will be in my future review when the show finishes airing.
I wasn’t trying to be an “influencer” or like Digibro as you put it. I had a strong opinion that I felt was unrepresented by ep3 so I wrote about it.
I'm not gonna list all the anime I've watched to prove my "legitimacy" but yo I watched Pupa and if that ranks a 1 I still rank Captain Earth a 3. Something like Persona 4 the anime would rank a 6. Something like Dangan Ronpa the anime would rank a 5 or 6. Captain Earth does not deserve a higher score than I've given it. That's just my opinion though. I see you ranked it a 6, but whatever. I mean, enough people must agree with me for my review to still be on the first page, right?
Deus ex machina is pulling shit out of your ass to save your characters. I'm talking about that blue-haired girl who gave Daichi his livlaster and is in the last scene of the anime. Who receives no explanation whatsoever. Maybe she's the soul of livlaster, idk who knows, but if her presence in the last scene implies what I think it does, then yes she is a Deus ex machina plot device. Enlighten me if I'm wrong, and despite what you say about Aldnoah, you still ranked it an 8. And no, I don't think Captain Earth makes more sense than Aldnoah, and yes I've finished Aldnoah too.
