Not sure if I mentioned that in the message, but be aware that MAL numbers the episodes in a weird way. For every 25 minute episode you watch you should increment the episode count on MAL by 5. There's a total of 24 standard length episodes in the first season.

Yeah there are definitely some similarities between Uramichi Oniisan and Gintama, especially since they share some of the voice actors.
