Sometimes good and bad can be separated by pretty small factors on the face of things. Besides, I wasn't drawn into the series by episode 1 of AoT. It was good, but it wasn't the biggest reason I decided to keep watching S1. But I was pretty exasperated by the events of episode 1 of OnS.
To make a different analogy, say someone fed you rice every meal of your life. Then one day they decided to change things up, exclaiming to you "we've got a whole new food for you my friend!" Turns out it was just differently seasoned rice. Is it wrong to be somewhat dissatisfied with the notion that you were expecting more but only got the same thing but worse? That's basically the feeling I got watching episode 1 of OnS. A pretty generic package that should've been more than it actually was.
