No hate but Witch hat atelier review could be summarised to "I don't like the world" cuz it built a pretty solid world with its laws and groups that are justified by its history and lore, and uses those laws and morals to challenge its characters. The manga constantly defies its characters with moral dilemmas because there is danger in magic being for everyone and its usage on life beings.

I saw you were in chapter 62, further into the current arc they explain why brimhats' ink is so strong and dangerous and justify why not to use magic in someone's body. I gave it a 2nd read recently and got a much better understanding of the overall picture, if you feel like it, give it a second chance when the anime releases (hoping its well adapted xD)

appreciate ur review of witch hat atelier, i feel like im one of the only ones who feels like the story is a complete mess, with things dragging and not feeling engaging, and the world building itself crumbling. the conceit that they could hide the fact that all of their magic just comes from drawings is insane- esp considering that apparently you need magic ink to do it, why not just make the magic ink extremely controlled? it just feels like theyve started way too many character arcs that arent overlapping and now can't focus on anything enough to have some momentum, womp womp
