My bad for just barely replying today. I wanted to make sure, offline that is, I was living someplace stable. Short story, moved around last year, and became inactive for long periods of time. Now, I'm good. Hoping to back on regularly like I use too.

So onto to Persona 5. I have a lot to say about it, but hard to summarize since I did play it twice (second time to get the Platinum trophy). I got the platinum trophy. It was almost a breeze, but man, getting all those demons was tricky. This is my PSN profile. https://psnprofiles.com/LightningWarior

Some quick stuff out of the way. So I romanced Makoto Nijima in my first playthrough. She almost didn't have competition, but then I advanced Hifumi (Shogi girl) social link, and grew to like her a lot more. What made Makoto win for me was I found her to be a little cuter because of some her expressions. She easily won me over too with her backstory of wanting to be more normal, and being a great police officer like her father. I do feel Makoto is a combination of Misturu from Persona 3, and Nagato from Persona 4, but I like Makoto more than those two characters haha.

My least favorite female character was easily Ann Tomaki. There was no competition since to me Ann came across as a typical female character, and hall all the traits of one. For me, a typical female characters cares about fashion (Ann was a model), friendship (Shio), and wanted to make her herself emotionally stronger because of a tragic experience. Granted, other characters in other forms of media also have similar characteristics, but Ann didn't stand out in any way in her characterization. I skipped her social link in my first playthrough, and didn't finish it. I completed it on my second playthrough, and she's still the weakest female character in the game for me.

Characters in general I liked a lot. For me, Sojiro was a real stand out. A lot of depth to him, and all around a cool fellow. The gameplay is the best it has ever been in any Persona game. Not only is the UI great, but the combat is quick, and addictive. It made going back to other JRPG feel like a chore. It was so good. I like the story a lot too, and how in depth it went into it themes about rebellion, and society. I enjoyed how it didn't attempt to make the whole concept of desires seem black & white. One thing I didn't like about the story was the framing device. Everytime the game rewind back to that interrogation room it broke the immersion for me. Once I got pass that point the story never lost me again. I wanting to know what was going to happen instead of already knowing what already happened.

Morgana I have to say is probably my favorite non-human party member in any Persona game. I like Aegis a lot, and before P5 she was easily my favorite non-human character in the Persona series, However, that was until Morgana got really developed, and towards the end of the game I care a lot more for him than I expected. His suppose death scene towards the end almost made shed a tear. No video game ever came close to making me cry, but that scene when Morgana says goodbye to the team after beating the final boss almost made me tear, and made realize how much I connected to him. He was literally with you the whole game.

The music is fantastic too. At first, the ending theme I wasn't hooked on, but now, I can't think thinking about it. Has to be my favorite ending theme in the Persona series now.

Anime wise, haven't finish a lot recently. I did rewatch the original Fullmetal Alchemist recently, and it was better my second time. It's for certain my second favorite anime of all time. I love it even more now. I also finished Scrapped Princess. Decent fantasy anime. Pacing takes away tension, exposition is non-stop in the middle, and it feels like it linger a lot when it comes to the story. The characters, and the world building makes it worth seeing though. It's all around a good series to see.

Any in depth thoughts about Persona 5? I'll be happy to discuss it with you since I like the a lot too

No problem. I love the Persona games to heart. Persona 3 is my favorite since its was made me into a big of Persona, and Shin Megami Tensei. Antyhing other than the games it depends. I like Persona 4: The Animation, but didn't care for Persona 4: The Golden Animation which ended up being pointless. The first Persona 3 movie I found average, but to its credit I think they did some good things with it. The sequel, not so much. Despite not liking the Persona 3 movies I'm still looking forward to seeing the movies. Steins; Gate characters are the most appealing aspect of the anime. I don't really get bother that virtually all my friends beside me love Steins; Gate. I do get ask sometime why I gave it 5, and then explain it. They take it well.

See you dropped Fairy Tail, and you saved yourself allot of terrible writing. The formula never changes, and every battle is won by the power of friendship. I still have half of the series to complete since I refuse to let it beat me. That the completionist side of me thinking. The music is good which is were all my compliments end. I do like the character of Erza (the red hair character). One reason being she has red hair, and is a tough character who shows emotion. However, the mangaka wants me to like her for her looks rather than personality. He's really shoving it in viewers faces with increasing fan service that his female characters are good looking.

In terms of Fullmetal Alchemist I prefer the original series. It's more in line with my taste since the pacing is consistently good. In Brotherhood the first 12 episodes were rushed, but it still ended up being a great series. I wouldn't give both adaptation any less than a 10 since the issues I do have seriously pale in comparison to how good they are. What I liked the about the original series more was the backstory to the Humunculus, and every character being tide together. I found it unpredictable too so I really feared for the Aleric brothers the entire journey. In Brotherhood, I pretty much guessed where the story was heading at around 6 or 7 episode in. I knew there was going to be a war, I expect Edward to give up his Alchemy, and I expected the transmutation circle plot since the FMA series loves to reuse that one allot. I also felt at time the main character disappeared for a long period of time towards the end. Still, it's the best usage of the Shounen formula in existence, and perfected every trope in Shounen, and made them work to soaring success.

You're seeing Bakemonogatari? I recommended to see it, but not sure. It doesn't look that interesting to me. Looking forward to anything next season? For me, it's only a new OVA of Gundam: Origin (my anime of the year). Everything else not so much. I'm planning on seeing an airring anime, but I'm not hopeful given the premise, or my track record with certain studios.

Hey Waff1ez! Thanks for the friend request. See you really Steins;Gate. I couldn't get into the anime. I found it average in the end because everything reseted to the status quo, SERN wasn't really explained that well, and the main character learned nothing from his journey. The characters are likable, but I really wanted more from the story.

JOHNNY YONG BOSCH IS AWESOME! Have you listened to his band Eyeshine? He's quite a good singer. I still can't believe he went from being a Power Rangers to anime, but thank goodness he did. I can't picture anyone else beside him playing Lelouch, and Vash the Stampede in the English dubs of those animes.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
