And wow, that genuinely sounds incredible. I'm not going to lie, it's gave me some big Clannad flashbacks even, with how Tomoya kept thinking back on what it'd be like if he and Nagisa never met, which if course also culminated in a big moment under the cherry blossoms.
But yeah, seeing all the characters growing up in a montage as well just sounds like something I would love too.
I wonder how you feel about the series as a whole after that? It was only yesterday you were complaining how much of a slog it felt to sit through. Did this ep redeem it all for you, or was it just the one diamond in the rough? There has been similar shows for me in the past where it was an easy 5 or 6 out of 10 all the way through except for like one scene that really got me emotionally. (I know you enjoyed other certain moments from the show before this one, but you know what I mean)
I'll take live vomit as well, which is a very real possibility with how much booze is being drank on my show...
I totally get that too. From what little i knew about the series beforehand, it sounded more like a father/daughter or older sibling relationship rather than forcing it to be a romantic one (not that thats ever stopped anime before...).
Actually, I do think that is something both our shows have in common. Both girls putting up this facade and these walls. And its those rare few times where she goes full mask off, that have been the most compelling moments for me so far.
And Higehiro has been on my list for a long time... I would have said if I didn't only just realise that I never actually added it... It's been on my RADAR for a long time.
I knew the general gist, how shes a runaway and all that, and I bet theres some really heavy backstory of how she ended up in that position. I do wonder how much we would get of the male lead in comparison, whether hes just meant as her guide or if we'll get a similar focus on his life and past.
And ooo, you know I love me some good bantz (head nod).
Thats good to hear that its a complete adaptation, I wasn't sure that it was with only 1 season.
Ooo that's awesome! Especially with how much you weren't feeling it for a good chunk of the series too, that is quite the turnaround. Thats just the power of โจโจ, huh?
Theres more I want to say, so sorry this is a short one, but we can pick this up later this evening.
Yeah, its wild some of the stuff Trigger got away with putting into it haha, but at its core it feels like a love letter to that era of cartoon network etc animation
I'd say thats a lot of cute boys. I'd also say that I'm in no place to judge when this has been my episode of the day ๐
I've heard of a few of those, Buddy Daddies, Hormiya, Insomniacs and the reincarnated wife one, though i cant remember if i added any of those to my own list, or if any of them were ones that i was fully sold on by the descriptions. But hey, I've been wrong before.
DeDeDedestruction was one i was very close to watching myself, though I know Asano, and I don't think im ready for even more trauma so soon after Takopi ๐
If it makes it easier to find here than scrolling up through your chats each time...
Quintuplets - think I've spoken about it a few times, its just a solid romcom, that does everything right and has a conclusive ending. Easy rec.
Rent a girlfriend S3 - ok, i know you'd prefer waiting until a show is done done. But I have no doubts youd enjoy this as much as i did. I think we both said we were surprised how much heart the series had, well this is it at its most heartfelt and what made the series go from a fun one for me to one I sank so much time into reading the manga, its just great.
Kaguya-Sama S3/movie - realised you havent seen past S2 yet. Well worth your time. S3 may just be my favourite so far. The story does continue on in the manga, but this very easily could be the finale of the story and noone would complain. The ship sails.
Made In abyss S2 - for when you *dont* want to have a good time... ๐
Masamunes Revenge - I vaguely remember you watching the 1st season back when it was airing, no idea what your opinions on it was, but i watched S1 and S2 back to back and loved the heck out of it. Maybe worth another go, if only to see the ending of the story.
Akiba maid wars - okay, bit of a wildcard. I know action heavy shows can be very hit or miss for you, but i was genuinely surprised by just how fun it was. Maybe worth a try if you want something a little bit different.
Bocchi the rock - k-on, but they actually make music instead of sitting around drinking tea. Also, main girl suffers from social anxiety, you know where thats going...
Nagatoro - just a fun teasing show, that has some very cute shipping moments.
Bottom tier character tomozaki-kun - okay, this is a you show if I've ever seen one. girl helps a guy out of his loner personality and open up.
Gushing over magical girls - for if you want something a little *ahem* cultured. I doubt id usually ever recommend it to anyone, but it was honestly very funny alongside all the lewd.
100 girlfriends who really really love you - harem parody that actually made me laugh a lot. It takes the silly premise and really rolls with it, making each girl genuinely interesting.
My stepmons daughter is my ex - one of those "i love this but sucks theres no s2" and yeah, i may have watched it because it reminded me of Domestic girlfriend ๐
Tomo chan is a girl - tomboy romance, need i say more?
Undead girl murder farce - dunno if its quite you're thing. Gothic murder mystery series with a protagonist who is an immortal talking head. The banter was great.
Vivy - time travelling idol robots gaining intelligence.
My dress up darling - got really big when it came out, so its probably on your radar already, but I loved the main pairs chemistry a lot.
The dangers in my heart - moving it up the list as ive seen it since, and yeah you know my thoughts on it
Romantic killer - same as above, a reverse harem i really liked.
Ones I haven't watched yet, but we'll probably both enjoy:
Bunny girl senpai sequels - been meaning to watch these, but im just waiting til a quiet moment and ill binge through the full series.
Ancient magus bride S2
The experienced you & inexperienced me
Skip to loafer - also heard a lot of wholesome
Yamada-kun lv999
Higehiro
Upcoming Ones to keep an eye on:
Ao no Hako
Spice and wolf remake
Kimi ni todoke S3 (I cant believe its coming either)
Jellyfish cant swim in the night
365 days to the wedding
Koi wa futago de warikirenai
Look back - read the manga oneshot before, its peak.
Make Heroine ga Oosugiru!
Monogatari series Off & Monster Season - woop shaft is back, baby!
Re:Zero S3
Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjou ga Nai
Shoushimin series
Dead demons dedede destruction - no idea about this, but same writer as punpun, so i imagine it'll be quite heavy...
Giji harem
Gimai seikatsu
Jiisan baasan wakagaeru
Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai
Whisper me a love song

And yeah, don't blame you on the coding bro ๐

Absolutely happy to hear that S3 lives up to the originals, and possibly even improves them from what we were talking about, like with blondie.
Have fun with your animu
We are pushing down my self-promotion further and further down with each comment ๐
I will always happily take Roxy gifs tho
