Adding onto what Kraut said, some of the downsides...
- Some of the new mechanics are incredibly broken
- The only objective types are kill the boss or rout
- Not the greatest map design in the series
- The plot by FE standards is horrible. The plot by normal standards is absolutely fuckin' horrible.
I would still really recommend you pick it up though.
Here's some anime recs:
- Hajime no Ippo is the best shounen I've seen (admittingly I haven't seen too many, DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece) and has plenty of what makes DBZ so enjoyable - the humour, the character interactions, the action. I see it's already on your plan to watch list!
- Space Dandy of course. Directed by and composed by the duo that did Cowboy Bebop, Space Dandy is an episodic space adventure with solid comedy and great characters. It's also one of my favourite anime for being so alarmingly unique in the modern era of generic sols and coms and fanservice and such.
- Redline. A movie with over the top F-Zero esque racing and some of the best animation in anime.
Awakening is great because it takes elements that made each FE unique and entertaining and combined them for the ultimate FE experience. There's plenty of ways both veterans and newcomers can enjoy the experience. The difficulty ranges from mind numbingly easy to "What the FUCK is this!" difficult. The music is solid, the gameplay is fun and engaging, and the supports are back to what made them great! Sure, some of the supports are written better than others, and the plot is, well, an FE plot; they're not fantastic. It's so well polished and enjoyable that I can only really play it and the Tellius game without getting bored.
I'm just being broad since I don't want to spoil anything and take away from the experience.
I think everyone loves Gurren Lagann. Over the top anime are sometimes really amusing, (especially once drunk while watching them).
Yep, Pent and I go back and fourth on here. And why not, as you know, he's a cool dude.
I still enjoy FE. I have a hard time playing anything below FE9 now, thanks to FE:A. I'm aware of the new patch. I'm indifferent towards it, but it's probably for the best to get as close to the content source as possible.
Yeah, I also enjoy samurai and sword fighting animes. More entertaining than people shooting at each other. You should definitely get P4 Golden if you have a Vita. It will change your life.
I've never watched Eureka Seven, but I'm sorry to hear that they botched the sequel.
Same here dude. nothing really going on, quiet but really boring.
I'm a fan of episodic stuff. Space Dandy and Darker than Black rank among my favourites, both have had Bebop's composer involved, and Space Dandy being directed by the same director as Bebop.
Been on a huge Gundam marathon. Maybe when I decide to take a break I'll give Bebop another whirl.
Yeah I've been meaning to finish Cowboy Bebop for awhile now... but just never find the motivation to do so. One of these days though I'll probably end up watching it in one sitting.
I'm glad you gave Xenoblade a chance, that game is fantastic!
Persona 4 is also one of the greatest things ever. If you haven't had the chance to play it, you should try an procure a copy.
I don't watch many anime movies, but I did watch Sword of the Stranger, and it's rather good. Just something to consider if you have an hour or so of free time.
I kinda fell out of anime, but I did start up the monogatari series and it is hilarious/awesome. Bakemonogatari... can't believe I never watched it before though. It is really story heavy, so don't bother if you don't like a lot of dialogue that moves the story along.
I picked up Bravely Default and that has my life at the moment. They fixed up all the right things when they made this spiritual successor to the small FF games like Dimensions and 4 heroes of Light.

Man, the Indians are really sucking this year.
New Mystery is solid however, definitely give it a shot.

So since I asked Kraut the same thing, what got you into anime? Also, what kind of anime do you like?

I do return to FE7 for nostalgia every now and then, and Tellius saga has always been a favourite.
Can you send me a link to this new patch? I haven't played FE6 since the gfaqs days - I'd love to play through again on hard.
10 and FE:A are my favourites.
Yeah, if/when I do get a Vita, it will be my first non-Nintendo handheld.
I thought about watching Kill La Kill, but I just haven't got around to it. Is it as good as people say it is?
