Apologies for never following up on your last reply - I wanted to think through it and give a proper answer, but beginning very shortly thereafter I've had some unexpected family stuff one after the other (in a 6 1/2 month span I had three grandparents' funerals and a brother's wedding), plus the usual work slams all mixed in. So it got away from me. I hope you're doing well, and if you're still interested in an answer to that Q I'd be glad to put one together.

This is an interesting answer by a person I think a lot of. I've watched both of the anime she discusses at length there, as well as quite a few from the other creators she mentions, and I think it's well on the right track.

This manga has an anime movie adaptation that in turn sounds like it may be pretty anti-capitalist, but I haven't watched it myself.

If I can think of anything else, I'll let you know.
