Thanks for the recommendations! I've got my sights on A Silent Day but I'm trying to resist home-binging more Itou as there's a non-zero chance that a local theatre will program his stuff one day.

That's a curious film indeed, and I had the same surprise as you about finding such non-animeish things here, stuff like Junk Head or Takashi Itou's photo animations for instance. I think A Country Doctor is the only other Yamamura film I've seen - any recommendations? And thanks for the request!
