Well, this is kind of difficult 'cus I haven't read a lot of manga and I don't think u like the shoujo/josei type... I don't like it either but almost of the shoujo anime or manga i've wathced/read contain something unique :p... Idk, Try to read Vampire Knight manga since u loved the anime. ^_^
At my fav mangas I've put One Piece but I haven't read it. It's so long and I don't have time right now to read it, but in the summer break I'll try to read it. I like Gakuen Alice and Skip Beat! very much. Both of them contain comedy and shoujo. I haven't read them completely (just from the 50th chapter or smth like that...).
Elfen Lied is a good manga if u like the genre. I've read only 17 chapters of it. This is my first manga. :d I didn't knew what's manga at that time. :p I could give u anime recommendations like Darker than Black, Death Note, Gantz or Lovely Complex. They have mangas so u could read them. :) A very cute manhwa is The Bride of the water god. It has a pretty nice story and the drawings are so beautiful. <3 I don't know what genre of anime/manga u like, so .... :p
