Don't be hesitant man, we're all one community of people trying to enjoy our hobbies together to the fullest, I think it's one of the main goals of this site.

We seem to have similar taste when it comes to genre, but to be honest, the more I watched, the more open I am with everything, so the "favorite genres" in my profile isn't really accurate anymore.

About the Monogatari series, it's one of my favorites actually because of its uniqueness and the way its executed with Akiyuki Shinobu's wonderful chief direction. It will be like nothing you watched before, it doesn't necessarily mean that you will like it, a lot of people don't, you will definitely need some patience, as well as paying attention watching it but if you will like it, it will be worth it.
Also, I consider the 3 Kizumonogatari movies one of the biggest highlights in the anime production industry and enough for anyone to check the series out.
When you do come around to watch it, don't forget to watch it by airing order :)

Don't worry about age, I don't really like sharing things like that, and I don't think it necessary (mostly because I don't want people that know me in real life find me online) but you really shouldn't worry about it.
