Of all the Dragon Ball movies I've seen, this is undoubtedly my favorite. And the main reason for my appreciation isn't so much the plot, but the fights, which are, without exaggeration, sensational. The choreography, the intensity, and the grandeur of the battles make this film stand out, with some of the most epic scenes in the franchise.

Now, speaking of the story, it's definitely not the film's strong point. Although it's fun to watch, it has a series of inconsistencies and some rather lazy solutions in the script. For example, the reason why the villain harbors so ... much hatred for Goku is almost forced, almost comical. They try to create a context for this hatred, but it doesn't seem well-developed. In the end, the villain's motivation ends up being shallow and difficult to take seriously. However, even with these narrative problems, I ended up ignoring them because of one point that really stood out: the main villain.

This villain is Broly. Despite his poorly constructed motivations, Broly is an incredible character in action. He's brutal, strong, and unstoppable. What impressed me most is how he was presented: a true force of nature, someone with enough power to leave even the Z Fighters on the verge of defeat. If I'm not mistaken, Broly is the only antagonist who makes all the main characters unite to face him at the same time, and even then, the fight proved extremely difficult. This feeling of constant threat was one of the film's greatest attractions, and it was thrilling to see the main characters struggling so much just to survive, let alone win.

In terms of animation, the film is a true spectacle. Each Dragon Ball film seems to raise the quality of animation to a new level. The highlight here is the fluidity of the animation, especially in the fight scenes. The movements are dynamic, fast, and extremely well done, which makes everything more immersive. The way the characters move, the blows are delivered, and the surrounding environment is destroyed is impressive. The way he moves, almost effortlessly, and the way the heroes are crushed by him, is simply breathtaking.

Furthermore, another character that deserves mention is Piccolo. Despite being a supporting character in the story, he has one of the most epic entrances in the film. It's a scene that truly elevates his aura and presence, showing that he is still one of the most respected warriors in the franchise.

In short, this is a film with a weak narrative but extraordinary fights. O filme mais legal no quesito lutas até agora!

De todos os filmes de Dragon Ball que eu já assisti, este é, sem dúvida, o que mais gostei. E o motivo principal do meu apreço por ele não está tanto no enredo, mas sim nas lutas, que são, sem exagero, sensacionais. As coreografias, a intensidade e a grandiosidade dos combates fazem esse filme se destacar, com algumas das cenas mais épicas da franquia.

Agora, falando sobre a história, ela definitivamente não é o ponto forte do filme. Embora seja divertida de acompanhar, tem uma série de inconsistências e algumas soluções bastante preguiçosas no roteiro. Por exemplo, o motivo pelo qual o vilão nutre tanto ódio pelo Goku chega a ser meio forçado, quase cômico. Eles tentam criar um contexto para esse ódio, mas parece que não é bem trabalhado. No fim, a motivação do vilão acaba sendo rasa e difícil de levar a sério. No entanto, mesmo com esses problemas de narrativa, eu acabei ignorando por conta de um ponto que realmente se destacou: o vilão principal.

It's a shame that in some scenes we see Goku being comedic, as this is a high-risk situation and there's no room for funny expressions, only seriousness.

I hadn't seen any of the old Z movies before so I didn't really know what to expect, but damn this kinda sucks. I get that people think Broly is cool, but this original version of him is just so incredibly stupid that I can't see it. Plus I don't find the directing or the fighting incredibly interesting to look at. It's kinda cool seeing this and noticing all the ways the animation in the 2018 movie pays homage to moments in this one, but I mean if you wanna see Broly just watch that movie instead it's so much better.

I like that weird squid ... guy tho.
