Anime and Manga Shopping Blog: Week #17 Revolutionary Vampire Girl
With this blog, I've decided to only do this when I feel like it, pretty much updating every other week... Yeah it'll be the same as it ever been...
Any who, this week I'm going to cheat, I did buy stuff last week, but not enough to make a whole blog and I did buy stuff this week but like last week as I mentioned a second ago, it's not enough to fill my quota (Which is at least items). So sit back and please accept my laziness as this week is, despite I'm talking about two weeks of stuff, another small week.
ANIME: Just one this week, but it's the first Nozomi title and damn, you got to know what it is by the name of this blog, Revolutionary Girl Utena: Student Council Saga Limited Edition Set, released by Nozomi/Right Stuf.

I had to buy this, especially after witnessing the glory of Ikuhara through Mawaru Penguin Drum (Which kinda over did the convoluted visuals a bit much), and hot damn did Nozomi deliver. Like with Funimation's new hard cover sets, Utena is cased in a chip board that houses three dvds covering episodes 1 through 12 and a production handbook, which is probably the best extra I've ever gotten with a dvd set. The overall design is absolutely gorgeous and stylishly appropriate for the anime itself.
The thin dvd cases themselves are covered in your typical character artwork, but doesn't look like cut and paste pic like funimation's DBZ Kai sets do. And it all can be yours for $49.99 retail, $29.99 online but for me, I got mine used (Yeah I know, but I have a suspension that the original owner never even opened it) for only $23.99, which is a great deal for such a high quality product.
Do I Recommend It? Of course! I have been looking forward to watching this, and chose to watch it only through these sets, and I'm glad I stuck with it as this is just nice to have.

MANGA: This week only Viz Media brings the goods.
First up is more from last time, March Story volume 2, released by Viz Media.

Ummm, yeah, I really don't know what to say, I can probably review it, but I'd literally end up saying the exact same thing I said last time... At least Viz keeps up with the quality... Next.

And finally (I know, I got seriously lazy this week), more vampires for your bite... Epic fail pun aside, Rosario Vampire Season 2 volume 8 (Series volume 18), released by Viz Media.

It's pretty much your standard manga released, there's pages, a good bit of them too, there's a spine, gotta have those, and a cover, obviously. Like every volume of Season 2 before it, it has a fold out poster inside (Of Moka's sister, Aqua), and it's only $9.99 retail and online.
OVERALL: Nozomi's first is among the best I've bought so far and Viz stay constant with it's manga releases.
I wanna give it an A for Utena's sake, but a B+ is more than enough I think.
Next time (Yeah, not week time probably), I wanna go movie hunting, especially in the Miyazaki zone.
