Shield hero get love because the production committee got international funding (through crunchyroll to fund seasons) while youjo Senki it's the usual production committee pattern so it's not on the list of priority of kadokawa judging from all their past release. Aside the movie and the apparition in isekai quartet it's less priority that overlord just by looking at release window vs announcement.
I mean the most love production wise, not from fans. I don't think I've heard a good word spoken about shield hero since the first season lol.

Naofumi's party leaves the castle... but suddenly has to turn around and come immediately back for no reason. which wasn't in the books. also, if you totally forgot? S2 had A NINE MONTH PRODUCTION DELAY. July the studio comes out in public and says, Nope! we can't make Fall... we're behind. it'll be Spring next year. shrug. something happened behind the scenes. S3? no new news as yet. S4? nothing there either. but in total? i love the show. it is entertaining, beautiful, and fun. |

Some thoughts about this thread:
1 - Lets not hope it has "24 episodes" just for the sake of it. The 1st season is a masterpiece, so is the movie. I'd rather have no new season than a slopified, super stretched 2-cour season. And trash second seasons happen ALL THE TIME.
2 - Shield Hero was okay the first season, and the rest of it is HORRENDOUS. Really bad. They were just trying to milk it.
3 - Lets wait and hope, but I don't think it's coming in the short-term.

| @0063873192871 2? no it wasn't horrendous. big problems? yep. 1? meh, i've seen tons of shows do great work with two seasons either split or consecutive. considering Tanya's the only Kadokawa IP in Isekai Quartet with this little anime content... SOMEBODY at Kadokawa has a problem with Tanya. they've got the cash, if they wanted the anime made... they would have bankrolled it by now. 3? totally agree. with Railgun getting a new anime project announced just a smidge over FIVE YEARS after the previous TV season started airing? that's a BIG gap for a popular franchise. sometimes patience (Bleach!) pays off... sometimes it doesn't (Oh! My Goddess). |
