Tsugumomo getting serious...

Tsugu Tsugumomo leaves off straight where the first season left off and well Kazuya and Kiriha has new enemies and allies to befriend in this season all the while things are brewing with the attempt on Kukuri's life is at stake. Now before all that seriousness does arrive though, Kiriha and Kazuya for the early parts of this seasons goes go through the usual isolated amasogi spirit cases in Kazuya's school and even formed the Troubleshooters Club in order to combat these amasogi, some which seems directly a letter of war from the new enemies of this season all the while.

With all ... being said however the fanservice is still in this season but toned and lessened down compared to the previous season, mainly in LA's eyes due to the different direction and tone Tsugu is going for thus the toned down fanservice throughout but what fanservice there is, it's expected cliche fanservice. For LA it was "meh" alright fanservice nonetheless.

So with the serious topic of new enemies after not only Kukuri but Kiriha and Kazuya in comes the Mayoiya arc where the new enemies reside and one of the more interesting things about them as we find out WHY they're after Kukuri and their desperation and this links to their lore of being tsukogami's and once they befriend Kiriha and Kazuya by mistake and gets to know their side fo things subtlely for the audience anyways, it does give a good sense that these new enemies aren't "exactly" villains, more like people desperate to survive, just their methods aren't exactly the best.

Character-wise, we do get some from Kazuya, FINALLY, though the first season gave him a bit, this season gave him a bit more of a backbone in this regard and pretty much took charge of the Troubleshooters Club as well as other crazy antics the amasogi gave Kazuya trouble with, though it's also because some revelations have happened that causes Kazuya to take up the stage proper as a character moving forward and just wanting to help people. Kiriha is the same old Kiriha though still a tsun, it's more like this season tries to nudge the entire romance angle with Kazuya, though the more shounen elements of this season takes precedence and finally Sunao from the finale of the first season gets some proper resolutions with Kotetsu as well as her pretty much getting added to Kazuya's harem at the same time.

To this end, due to the more serious nature and this season looking into villainous tsukogami in this season, the world building of this season was greatly affected in a good way, giving us a different perspective other than Kiriha and Kotetsu and with how deep the entire Mayoiga arc goes it even delve sin the entire system and lore of the Japanese Gods and what links they have to the tsukogami's, heck it even questions Kukuri status as a goddess in GLORIOUS fashion.

The animation is the same as it's first season that of Zero-G and it looked like they stepped up a bit especially with the shounen-like battle scenes and the overall consistency of this season was pretty good all throughout. Zero-G made this second season look rather polished from the first season and it's animation was pretty consistent, either way, good job Zero-G.


The voice cast is back with a few new additions of the new "villain" tsukogami's of Arumi voiced by Riho Sugiyama, Akito voiced by Shogo Sakata and Mimane voiced by Mami Uchida. But the MVP for this second season easily goes to Yurika Kubo as Kukuri as she got her time to shine in this second season but also the returning cast like Naomi Oozora as Kiriha and even Yuuko Sanpei as Kazuya got her time to shine with how "shounen" this second season got. Overall, the voice cast like it's animation was consistent and pretty decent all round with the only exception of Yurika Kubo being the MVP of this second season.

LA said in the previous seasons review of Tsugumomo that it was scattershot with it trying to do everything, well this second season remedied it, with a focused story arc, whilst having a buildup of isolated amasogi incidents to kick things off with. The fanservice was toned down and expected to be for this season with the tone it gave off and in some ways Tsugu Tsugumomo pretty much is going in the way of Negima!...in SOME SENSE, LA will stress, as both are mild to outright ecchi harem anime that turned into a straight on shounen battle harem.

This is definitely a step up from the first season rather scattershot focus and though the villains of this season aren't necessarily evil thus diminishing the shounen aspect to a certain extent, it however helps that given the insight to the villains of this season gives an interesting dynamic and new point of view of Tsukogami's thus a MUCH more immersive world building aspect to tsugumomo, something the first season glossed over. Developing characters, world building, decent production, decent but not in your face fanservice, Tsugu Tsugumomo pretty much gave what LA wanted out a focused second season of Tsugumomo and it mostly or expectedly delivered.

AHHH Tsugumomo, how the small cult following has missed you for 3 years. This fun little action-comedy show with tons of ecchi in it for some good laughter. Needless to say that the same production team at studio Zero-G is back to helm the series, along with the same VAs reprising their roles for yet another good time.

The one thing that progressed with Tsugumomo is the story, ever since Season 1's introduction between the humans and the tsukumogami with Kazuya, Kiriha and the rest of the Troubleshooters Office team of misfits (not to mention the ecchi that kinda is overbearing), Season 2 here ups the ... ante with more action that's brought on from more malice that's built from the last legs of Season 1. More importantly, there is a plot between both humans and their respective tsukumogami, in regards to their treatments and such that triggered some massive implications that could change the forces of nature. Some pretty good content if you'd ask me, and a huge improvement over the first.

Otherwise, pretty much everything's the same if you've watched Season 1 that's full of the comedic ecchi that always tickles the funny bones, with more characters getting into the action, and overall that makes for a better reception alongside Season 1.

The elephant in the room is that since Tsugumomo was one of studio Zero-G's first works, the art and visuals have taken a hit though. That's not to say that it was bad, but given how the manga kinda improved its art overtime, the anime kinda downplayed it by a long shot, that it feels ugly. This has been a fact since Season 1, and Season 2 here is more of the same, but is honestly bearable to watch.

Overall, this is a good sequel for fans of Tsugumomo who wants more content, along with the ever-so-relevant ecchi comedy breaks that never gets old.

Holly molly, tsumomo did it again, this a good way to do a good ecchi anime, implement a good story with an ammount of soft hentai make a sensual, satisfaying and interesting anime, the manga is more explicit but for obviously reasons needs to be censored but for me its not a problem, the development of every charachter is good, the haerm too, is not like OH I DO HAVE A CRUSH ON THE MC WITHOUT ANY REASON, NO, this show work this problem with every girl in the anime, thats good and if you wanna see this, youre welcome, this anime deserve the time

TSUGU TSUGUMOMO (2nd Season) :

I love shows which involves history and mythologies of traditional Japan. It took me no time to add this one to my list, especially when Ecchi genre is present here. I was all along waiting for the second season, thankfully we got one.


This season focuses on [Kazuya and Kiriha] encountering various new "Amasogi" born from "Malison". ---- Malison is a type of fog that makes people's wish come true (be it for good or bad) as explained in the first episode.

New characters are introduced like "Tsukumogami(s) from Mayoiga".

Art & Animation are definitely good with catchy OP & ... ED songs.

Most importantly, this season is nothing short on ECCHI with many special & funny moments. KIRIHA is my favorite character in this series.

Kiriha is my favorite character in both seasons, the reason being my love for Onee-san. :D

TSUGUMOMO (both seasons) are special to me. Its all the elements like ACTION, ANIMATION, CHARACTERS, COMEDY, ECCHI, SOUND which makes it possible. It didn't disappointment me.

I have my silly reasons for not giving it 9, but as i said its special to me for its two main characters. Of course, I want something to happen between them. (That won't happen, I guess, cuz...)

Oh yeah, Tsugumomo! I recently watched this in preparation for this season and the first season surprised me a lot. It was a really fun mish mash of ecchi, comedy and action, featuring enjoyable characters and a really solid production. It wasn't anything mindblowing but it was a fun time nonetheless.

Now, after three years and a succesful crowdfund of an uncensored OVA the second season is here, and it is just more Tsugumomo.

Is there anything different from the first season? Well for one, the production values are downgraded. The first season had a vibrant color palet with suprisingly good action scenes that would impress ... even the best of action shows. This second season however the color scheme has become more dull and the action scenes are more what you would expect out of B-tier action show. The production values are far from bad, but it definitely has been downgraded.

One thing that has improved is the story. The first season had a story but it more so focused on the action, comedy and ecchi scenes. This season so far already showed some interesting lore, background stories and potential future villains. There has been more thought put into the side-characters and their motivations and the anime even has fun with itself by referencing to earlier episodes (which is rare for these kinds of shows).

Other then that, it's just more Tsugumomo. It's the same highschool comedy with decent action and lots of ecchi as it was in the first season. If you like the first season of Tsugumomo, you will like the second season.

What if you took Naruto, made it better, fused it with BLEACH then added a GOOD ecchi harem on top? That's Tsugumomo. You'll quickly get to love lovable characters, hate annoying characters and truly get immersed in this silly-but-serious universe.

This season surpasses the previous in pretty much every aspect (except, perhaps, on the amount of Kiriha scenes. There can never be enough Kiriha on screen). Plot-significant fight scenes are straight up GORGEOUS, sound design evokes precisely the necessary feeling and perceptions. Really, it's a masterfully crafted piece of art.
Where the show falls short is in filler-esque downtime, thankfully a rarity.

Go watch it, we need a ... 3rd season stat.

omg - oh man, I can't believe it what I am seeing here..... are you serious, is this the same Tsugumomo that we saw last time, in my review over the first season I said many things about it that, the season 1 is not made in a way that raises one's curiosity about what happening inside the anime and excite them to watch but yes it is worth to watch, there were also some downsides about the events and their timing etc. but this time I don't think so because the feeling I was getting in season 1 while watching it that ... something is missing or something is lacking it's not here. The events are improved, the story has gone wild so many things have changed compared to season 1, it's like the anime has changed dramatically to a completely new level. Timing and the time given to each scene and event is done so well than before. Plus this new turn of event we have here it just makes you excited to know what is going to happen next (which was lacking in season one) and also here it actually gives the feeling of this the story we wanted to see all along or now we are talking about some real stuff.
(Ok about the story I will try to keep the things to minimum to avoid any spoiler)
So the story follows up after season 1 and this time "Kagami Kazuya" has formed a club at school with his friend so he can get some help and continue his work as an exorcist and they start can find clues about "Amasogi" - while doing so they found something unnatural about "Amasogi" which are born and when they started to investigate in that case they came in contact with new people who are turned out to be "tsukumogami", now "Kazuya" and friends have new things to investigate about and find "what is their goal?" or "what they are after?" - while doing so "Kazuya" come know some truth about his past which had been kept hidden by "Kiriha" and "Kukuri".
The anime follows the rest of the story and came to an unexpected ending. The second season is made amazingly good - story, memories, explanation, details.

Art, Sound and Characters - everything is done so well, especially the background music and sound and animation, in action and some other parts are done so well. especially my favourite one is episode 9 - the fighting scene of "Kukuri" - the background music in action animation is so amazing (it's a bit spoiler so not going to mention the whole thing). plus I also love to hear the opening (music gives joyful feeling) and ending theme (is chilling and bit of deep feeling) (just like the season 1), the animation and illustration are also done so well, plus new illustration at the end of each episode.

Enjoyment - Compare to season 1 with less risk and lack of punch, this one is full of action, events and gives really hard kicks, plus to add jokes and ecchi time scenes.

General Reflection: (7,7 / 10)

Honestly this was one of those sequels of which I did not have in my priorities or great expectations in it, but it has managed to surprise me and sell me the illusion of wanting to see an early 3rd season as soon as possible.
I know that many complained about the cut that the adaptation had compared to the manga, but humbly as a staunch fan of Animation and that they have not appreciated the original material of the Manga, let me tell you that it fulfills its role very well. Since the story unfolds at a prudent pace, which does ... not leave the viewer helpless and it is easy to connect the story, there were no great "moments" that required more time than they were given in the series, except for the ending that if I felt that they could exploit it something more.
As Art and sound are sections that are also excellently worked, both in the battles that feel very fluid the movements and the Soundtrack very in the style of Shinobis that fits perfectly and create a perfect harmony and atmosphere for the show.
Perhaps, the most sacrificed point have been the secondary characters, especially the new ones who have not had such extensive participation, but who at least appeared and we already know their principles and personalities.
I do not want to extend much more, now it remains to wait a while to see what happens with the sales and if the Zero-G studio sees a next adaptation for Tsugumomo feasible.

Sinceramente esta era una de esas secuelas de las cuales no tenia en mis prioridades o grandes expectativas en ella, pero a logrado sorprenderme y venderme la ilusión de querer ver una pronta 3° temporada cuanto antes.
Se que muchos se quejaron del recorte que tuvo la adaptación a comparación del manga, pero humildemente como un acérrimo fan de la Animación y que no a dado apreció al material original del Manga, déjenme decirles que cumple muy bien su papel. Ya que la historia se desarrolla a un ritmo prudente, que no deja al espectador en desamparado y es fácil de conectar la historia, tampoco transcurrieron grandes "momentos" que requieran más del tiempo que se les otorgó en la serie, a excepción del final que si sentí que pudieron explotarlo algo más.
En cuanto Arte y sonido son apartados que también son excelentemente trabajados, tanto en las batallas que se sienten muy fluidos los movimientos y los Soundtrack muy al estilo de Shinobis que encaja perfecto y crean una perfecta armonía e ambiente para el show.
Tal vez, el punto mas sacrificado han sido los personajes secundarios, sobretodo los nuevos que no han tenido una participación tan extensa, pero que al menos se presentaron y ya conocemos sus principios e personalidades.
No me quiero extender mucho mas, ahora resta esperar un tiempo ver que sucede con la ventas y si el estudio Zero-G ve factible una proxima adaptacion para Tsugumomo.

Tsugu Tsugumomo (2020)

It is amazing how far the show has come from its previous form that was mostly ecchi with a balance of action and storytelling to this. This second season still has everything the first season had but it goes a step further in the regard it gets traumatic and that is in a good way. It becomes a much more serious show and does it in a way that is so superbly different. Not many shows have ecchiness in episode 11 to the normal point and suddenly episode 12 goes dark, I mean really dark.

One thing that was really nice ... is in episode 5 you even get the parody of Kiriha and Kazuya reading the materials for the show they are currently in.

The art is much more polished than before being much newer and still holds its value in high regard. Combat especially more prominent here is shown in a really good way.

The soundtrack, OP and ED are all very well done with more SFX sound than before. Still not quite as oomphy as I would have wanted but it is getting there.

Characters are more or less the same with the expected additions to furthering the story. This does add many new characters but they are all following a similar archetype that is easy enough. This is good since you do not need a huge amount of time understanding people.

Azami the black obi is the one who stood out most for me since she is so serious and evil but yet so cute and adorable with her true desires and intentions have shown when needed. Another one that stood out due to her sadistic nature and being pretty cute in that regard was Kyouka the flute.

The show itself is even more enjoyable than before but that is because it progresses forward rather than staying somewhat still. The show is absolutely worth watching and since it has a strong fan base and has ended in a way that would almost force either you too read or desire a new season I would think it is pretty much guaranteed.

My opinion is the story needs a clear direction with some explanation for those who have not read up. You would easily wonder why the seal situation which would have made the fights more complex and strengthened along with many sacrifices were to be explained more. Also, the extra group that was betrayed just sort of disappearing for the moment and where is the flute. Just some things that need to be gone over or it would begin to ruin the story.

this Anime is already the definition of awesome they don't need to add that much of fan service, Ecchi, harem to make it look great, on the contrary for all these Hentai like scenes I feel really uncomfortable but I keep watch it only for the fight scenes and soundtracks.

I hope that the next season will concentrate more on plot, fight and characters story's rather then all that unnecessary fan services

This Anime isn't that much popular so I'm very worried about the third season, the question is, will it ever happen? ahhh this is really a great anime

I KNEW it, those combat scenes from Tsugumomo were no mere random occurrence that anime had dormant shonen DNA! The master manipulators of serious and silly are at it again but this time with much hotter and volatile ingredients. Tsugu Tsugumomo turns up the heat with wonderful fights and struggles that the original Tsugumomo only lightly touched upon and in the process miraculously keeps the humor and ecchi intact for a wondrous experience. The character and story departments received upgrades as it introduces a bunch of new characters along with their plights for our boi Kazuya to interact with and spice up the anime's plot ... past just foul energy exorcism.

I wish it had a good animation. I would have given it a 9/10
It's literally one of the few anime to use ecchi in it and yet spark the joy and thrill in me while watching a fight. I'd find myself cheering on for the characters. It really reminded me of my weeb days when I started out watching Naruto...
The comedy was great but.. I just came after finishing the last episode and.. I'm seriously heart broken right now..
But, here's the review nonetheless cuz this anime deserves it.

I've seen worse, but this is nearly appalling... Tsugumomo ... does not deserve this low level of animation, that too in 2020 where there are better animations in much worse series... I hope that whenever a new season comes, which is unlikely for a few years at this point, they either change studios or hire better people..
But anyways, i got my hands on the BluRay version so that was a nice catch iykwim :smirk:

The author is great in what he does. All the connections make sense and it makes it hard for me to sense the plot armor. I love how every character DOES have a reasonable motive .Especially the Mayoiga arc, that was a genius arc imo cuz both sides had strong reasons and neither were correct. And.. yea, I'm heartbroken rn... I just came straight here after finishing the season, as I said..

The characters are just lovable. Each one of them has a personality that seems generic at first but is the funny type of generic (Like Osamusa, that dude is my fav even tho he looked like the most generic dude out there)
Fine, the mc is a beta male but he's giving it his best now and he's a really good character personality wise too.
Kiriha... 🥺🥺She's an angel but.. AGHH whatever! I won't spoil it! She's an angel and one of my fav characters thus far, and the voice actor is my fav too.

I have not binged an anime since forever. Yes, I have a life, okay? Shocker.
But, yea, I was forced to put that life away and spend the whole night to finish this. The jokes make me laugh out loud, the sad scenes make me cry, the fights get me all hyped up. It's very enjoyable.

I liked the opening of the first season, but this is very fun too. I didn't skip it throughout the season except for the last CUZ THINGS WERE JUST TOO FIRE I COULDN'T WAIT >_<
Skipped the ending. And, no special sounds tbh, pretty generic and the only songs I find myself singing/humming to are both of the openings of this series.

It's the animation.. I would've gladly given it a 9, or maybe even 10 if it weren't fast paced and kept honest to the manga. But I've heard just rn that the studio this was made by was their first attempt at making an anime. And, well, that's a job well done in that case. But, they must improve. They can't keep doing the anime injustice and make it feel like an anime from the 2000s...
And, I recommend it to anyone who can bear with the ecchi, or, like me LIKES the ecchi ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Either way, a very enjoyable anime, I might start reading the manga now..

I really enjoyed this. The mature rating on it I'm Crunchyroll is warranted, I guess, though I've seen ackee that is more deserving of a mature rating than this one. There are definitely situations where it applies, throughout the series, but especially that one episode.....

There's a fun comedy/action balance to it that I really appreciate. There's a magical experience throughout. The characters are well developed in the story is balanced from beginning to end with a suitable end like a lot of things that I've seen. I've been just several shows lately during one day while I've been sick and this one is the first ... of them that didn't seem like it lasted forever. It went by fast and I'm glad that I watched it. I definitely suggest this.

tl;dr: A great sequel to the first season that for the most part is more of the same as the first season but a bit better, but with a finale that is a major step above everything so far.

As with the first season, this second season of Tsugumomo is about the exorcist Kazuya and his Tsugumomo partner Kiriha dealing with various harmful supernatural phenomenon that occur him known as Amasogi. The previous season ended with an arc where the action took up a much larger role than the stories before it, suggesting that action would play a more important role going forward. This is true ... to a degree, but this season is still far from being battle centric.

The majority of the anime is still composed of short episode long stories where figuring out the specifics of how an Amasogi works and who’s the one behind it are still the core of the narrative. This often involves more action and the action is better than it was for most of the season, though it never really reaches the peak of the final episode of the first season. And within these stories as well as in the periods between dealing with the Amasogi there’s a lot of comedy which overall I felt was just as strong as the first season if not a bit better, though still very similar and heavily centered around pervy humor. This season also continues development of the various characters introduced in the first season, though for the majority of the season it’s pretty minimal for everyone.

However, in what is a major difference from the first season, there is a very clear overarching narrative this time, in that there is an antagonist faction that is intentionally creating the Amasogi that Kazuya has to deal with. A good amount of effort is put into developing the motivations and background of the faction and they’re fleshed out decently well. This also results in some world building as well as further fleshing out of the mechanics of how Tsugumomo and such work, and also continues throwing out small hints of the mystery surrounding Kazuya’s past.

All the smaller stories of dealing with minor Amasogi threats builds up to a major confrontation with the antagonist’s faction in the final third, where things start off a bit more intense than anything before this, but just continue rising in intensity from there, with the final episode being at a whole other level. The action is a major step up above even the final episode of the first season. It’s also a lot more serious, wherein it adds considerable depth to the story and characters, with major development in some key characters as well.

With all that said, though the anime does have somewhat of an ending, in that the major battle that was the climax of the season is over, that battle ends with the opening up of a large number of plot threads that need to be resolved, so it doesn’t really feel like an ending at all. Still, the note it ends on is pretty positive in that it feels like the story is going to change tremendously and get much more interesting going forward, so I suppose the ending is satisfying enough under the assumption that the story is continuing past this point in the manga at least.

The art and animation I felt were a decent improvement over the first season, though overall very similar. The new character designs are solid enough, but there was nothing that especially stood out. The OP is great this time with a good song and great visuals, and the ED is decent in both aspects. The soundtrack is also really solid and works really well, especially in the more serious and action oriented portions.

Absolute fire in story watching, and honestly at first I thing this is just a normal Echi Fantasy Comedy anime that will makes me laugh and happy and forget about life for a bit, but at the end it really makes me regret for watch it, not because how bad it is but because how good it is soo I need to wait for another season to now what gonna happen next and yeah this is really makes me feel regret cuz watch it to early and not wait it till it comes with full season,

Honestly this one makes me feel like I'm watching ... just the prolog for this long time.

I hope this project will success and become more and more good and enjoyable in story writing and in some comedy ero genre that maybe will boost the genre reputation and image so ppl will rethink about this genre is not just about nudity and fan service but also included with ABSOLUTE PEAK STORY WRITING AND DRAMA.

Well, when you watch an ecchi anime the last thing you'd expect is top-notch action. But in the case of Tsugumomo this is exactly what you get .

This second season follows exactly after the end of the first(obviously). Only later on do we pivot into the new season arcs. Mainly the tsukumogami village. And some real crazy stuff towards the end. Trust me on that one.

Now, there's two points i really have to praise.First of all :as much as this show is ecchi,the spicy stuff never happens during important times, like during a battle. Usually fanservice happens at completely random times in ecchi ... anime,even during action scenes, and it really muddles the pacing . Not in here. There's always a time and a place for these sorta things. And that's a big bonus.
Second of all:This anime never takes focus away from arcs and conflicts with slice-of-life and all that jazz. It sticks to the plot ,the amasogi and all other threats.
This season also ups the fighting. Even better looking and just more quantity wise. Also some comedy sprinkled in. The morbid kind, but funny none the less.

And since the tsukumogami village is introduced we obviously get even more characters. And while most of them aren't that fleshed out, some do stand above the rest.From the new cast,specifically Mimane. Pure chaos in human... i mean tsukumogami form.And im saying that in a good way. The others are allright i guess. The main cast from the previous season however is just as solid.Although for the most part the childhood friend and buddies at school don't get as much action. Kiriha still runs this show though.

If you liked the first season, there's no way you won't enjoy this one.

Now.... It's been 5 years since this season,and we got no news of continuation sadly. Im not really inclined to read the manga since the action is a really big part and it's obviously not gonna be as good in manga form,but if nothing comes out im afraid i'll just have to. Imma pray for a third season.

Tsugu Tsugumomo

I’ve never seen an anime that was so average the first season and become greatness the next season. The first season was more comical with fan service all over the place. Fights were corny and short. Typical ecchi.

Season two still kept the fan service here and there and comedic relief but also more focus on what a Tsukumogami actually is. We get a better grasp of the point of this story and a lot more action. The last two episodes really made me bump this season to a 9 on the rating. Character development for the main characters were excellent this season ... as well. This show is like naruto and bleach out together with more ecchi moments. The art and animation is clearly on a next level this season as well had a noticeable amount of more effort out into the quality of this characters and fights. Season 1 was average I rated it a 5. Season two almost double the score and rate it a 9. That should tell you how much better this season is. There’s so much this anime provides for anime watchers than what it doesn’t. You like action? There’s fights! You like boobs? There’s boobs! You want to laugh? It’s Funny! I’ll be waiting for season 3 hopefully it doesn’t take another 3 years
