| Miime got changed a lot :o According to the character page for her they decided to make her look human and gave her a different background. I remember seeing her play the harp in the original Captain Harlock. |

| Interesting start, not sure why they changed Miime so much and I'm not entirely sure that I like the change as this is supposed to be a sequel to the original but well I did like how this is more of a prequel rather than a sequel to the original series as Toshiro is still alive and traveling alongside Emeraldas! Either way a pretty good start, let's see what's next. |

| This is neither a prequel or a sequel, it's an adaptation of an opera by Wagner that is using the characters and universe of Captain Helock. That is part of the reason things are different. |

| This is rather interesting. It's obviously different than many other Harlock series, but that's the way Matsumoto does things. |
