For what reasons do you like this movie?

I believe that this movie is overrated. I saw some comparisons to Inception, i don't think they are valid comparisons, i feel like Inception wasn't as fleshed out as this movie was, i also think it is overrated.

Granted, i might have missed something while watching it, and therefore i can't jump right in the pool of "This is a great movie!" like some of you guys are in. I would love to be shown why this movie isn't overrated, or why it deserves its praise, or what makes it great, whatever it is.

I don't particularly like it (that's why I left it at 9 compared to Perfect Blue that got a +0.5 to reach 10). But I can not deny that it's a great movie in term of cinematography/direction, narration and themes (exploitation, illustration).

@Nitroade24h I simply said I did not like it (as in not "liking it"). It doesn't prevent me to think only good things of it. A 9 is for "great" anime, and I see how great this one is. ^^

I really appreciated that it had a small cast. It helped the story stay focused and let it spend most of its run time on things actually consequential to everyone involved.

I like DC mini concept and imo its something magic in this movie (art work help a lot).

-Best animation and visuals I ve seen in decades
-A lot of poetic metaphores and hidden messages
-The best representation possible of a dream. It s literally a dream. Everything in this movie allows it to be a wonderful embodiment of dreams.

You don’t like it so you gave it a 9/10? For me a 9/10 is reserved for incredible anime that I wouldn’t quite consider perfect.

it's a 7 for me. not up to the level of Perfect Blue 10. The story for Paprika Is just not there.
