| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I really don't know how to score this anime. There wasn't anything noticeable bad, but neither noticeable good. Really good animation and soundtrack. Not that bad characters and story. But my guts are telling me something was missing from this anime. So far 7/10, but when I watch it again, I'll try to analyse what is this thing that is missing. |

| I think it was the ending I don't like endings where lovers fall apart and I think this was the first time an anime covers Vietnam War. The depiction of war was very realistic. |

| I don't know, I feel like it had an interesting story that had potential to be explored further. But then the ending kinda squandered it in favor of a bad terminator rip off. Edit: Also, looking through things before rewatching it and realized that almost everyplace considers this to be the first OVA by Tezuka Productions, which doesn't make sense since there were the three Lion's Books OVAs before this. |
