What do we think? Place your bets now!

My guess is recap/summary with ten minutes of new footage.

No no, it have to be the rest of the ending right?
There is no way they can put all the rest of the story in one episode ;o;

Its probably a recap. The story was nice, but the anime was barely animated, its hard to think there would be a whole movie with animation like this.

It is going to adapt the rest of the manga into a movie. The anime covers about 75-80% of the original manga so this is going to be wrapping up the rest of the story. They said as much in the announcement.

I haven't finished the anime yet. I don't know much about the anime business, but I'm kinda surprised that a series and a film were greenlit in such quick succession. I wish it were just produced by Kadokawa or some other media company so it weren't an advertisement for Line and associated products. We need more LGBT anime.

@asschewer fr, do you read light novels? because there's a great LGBTQ+ light novel called "the mimosa confessions", i highly recommend it. it's one of the best written light novels i've read imo, the atmosphere and characters are amazingly done. check out the plot synopsis on its mal page and see what you think

I don't normally read light novels. Judging by the synopsis, I'd probably find it difficult to relate to the transphobia and polyamory elements. I'm just talking about mainstream moe yaoi ecchi type stories, not necessarily beat-for-beat clones of this anime. I'm still fairly new to yaoi.

@WestOnAndrewAve The movie is coming out on Valentines day in February, that's ~4.5 months away, not a year.

Right but by the time we (anyone outside Japan) can actually see it it'll be close to a year unless it goes streaming relatively quickly.

@WestOnAndrewAve It kind of depends, sometimes anime movies will be streamed online relatively quickly. That's more likely to happen when it's not a massive standalone production, Your Name would be an easy example. It could end up being treated more like a "special" too, kind of like the Quintessential Quintuplets honeymoon special which is showing in Japan's theaters for 3 weeks, then it is supposed to air on TV.

I expect it to be an actual movie following the rest of Saki's arc as most of the end webtoon focuses on that.

@Atikal7 I hope so! The series was good and Saki's backstory and struggle were really intriguing. I was extremely disappointed when her whole trauma was solved by "....and then her mother comes back" -.-

Haven't read the source material but if this movie gives me more closure on her arc, then the series as a whole will rise from 7 to 9 in my book!

There's a lot more to Saki's arc. It's been a while since I read the webtoon but I think they skipped over some stuff in the anime that hopefully they'll save for the movie (although it will be then rushed...)

"barely animated" look okay, I get that it's not actionslop but just say you disliked the chibi artstyle both in the manga and the anime, no need to be pretentious poser when you disregard anything slightly avant-garde as "bad animation"
