The Safeguard' symbol

I had just finished reading the last log when I started thinking about the Safeguard' symbol...does anyone know if t has any meaning/ inspiration? What really got me wondering was if it had anything to do with an inverted cross- antichrist theme... (Mainly because Chibo, once she reaches the final Exterminator stage, gets a halo...)
