 The official website for the television anime adaptation of Kazune Kawahara's Taiyou yori mo Mabushii Hoshi (A Star Brighter Than the Sun) manga revealed additional cast, staff, the opening theme, a key visual (pictured), and the first promotional video on Friday. The anime is scheduled to premiere on October 2 at 11:56 p.m. on TBS' 28 stations. Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen) is handling the series composition and Jinfeng Zeng is designing the characters. Natsumi Tabuchi (Akuyaku Reijou Tensei Ojisan) and Miki Sakurai (Megami no Café Terrace) are composing the music. Kawahara (Ore Monogatari!!) began serializing the school romance manga in June 2021 in Bessatsu Margaret magazine. Shueisha shipped the 11th volume on April 24, with the 12th volume planned for an August 25 release. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in May 2024.
