Reading the source material aka manga of this series feel so different when you watch the anime adaption of this series, like ufotable really give this series a perfect adaption. S3 was pretty good, but I feel like there was too much of talking, specially how flashback appeared every episode out of nowhere lol. Really missed inosuke and zenitsu's usual tomfoolery. Now that nezuko has conquered the sun it feels like we're finally entering the last part of this series. Ufotable visual Bring life to this series. The soundtrack, the fight animation, those gorgeous background visual, especially in this episode sunrise moment. It was really good. 9/10

6/10, unfortunate, ahh this episode would have decided if the show deserved an 8/10 or a 6/10 for me and I can't help but feel let down. Well bottom line is that the majority liked it, so whatever.

It took long than expected for last episode. Nezuko now can talk, cinematic and emotional moment Tanjiro need to decide is really touch my heart. What a journey this season but i assume still better previous arc.

This is the weakest of all the seasons because there are too many flashbacks and crying scenes.

the finale was interesting enough, finally, because the entire season felt like a chore. The demons despite being 'stronger' than the siblings demon from last season, yet they seemed weaker, lamer, and utterly uninteresting. I can't help but feel bored by each episode, and what's worse it was just 70-80% unending action sequences. Maybe it was the consequence for making the siblings so strong that the mangaka couldn't think of what would make the higher demons better. Well, let's see, there are three upper demons remaining and one demon king.

Now I can't deny being emotional by Nezuko miraculously surviving the sun. But it was very convenient... well, the anime's always been convenient from the start, with Nezuko not being required to eat humans and Tanjiro doing Sun Breathing in the middle of the battle with the spider guy. So I'll give it a pass, since I did find the drama with Nezuko touching.

Unfortunetely the new movie made it in on my "Will watch it for social reasons" category so I felt forced to be caught up.

And like I always said, this series still is a terribly paced kids show with blood and some multilation. Most people still can't wrap their head around the idea that violence and sex doesn't make something made for adults. Remove all that and DS would easily be classified not only as a regular kid show, but one of those discovery kids shows that even 5y old complain it's too kiddish.

But the worst thing is the director thinks the best way to adapt a story is to make "every panel shine", but what he does essentially is drag every little scene to the point most of them do not work. Comedic timing? Gone thanks to everything being dragged. High tension scene? Gone, thanks to excessive slow montion removing any tension. Hell, even normal talking scenes don't work because you feel there's no fluidity.

In order for me to finish this shitshow, I had to commit what I believe is the cardinal sin of watching any media with video. I watch it with 1.5x speed. Speeding up any media removes the director intention, but since the director intention was saying "fuck you" to the audience, the only way I could watch it was saying "fuck you" back.

All this series has is one scene each entry that everyone won't shut up about due to high quality animation and sad/epic music. And somehow people eat it up as if it the entire series had that quality.

Seriously, I would completely be fine if the series was rated around 7.5 and had same amount of members/fanbase as most of mid shows. But the fact this became the highest fanbase, the highest selling and it's currently the only anime capable of filling IMAX seats makes me hate the hell out of this shit. This series is the ultimate symbol on why I gave up being a anime fan. What once was an industry that showcased animation wasn't a genre, it was a format that could be appreciated by any age, now the anime industry just focus on slop because it's what the masses buy.

Anyway, can't wait to get to next Season where somehow people say it's the worst.

This episode was too long, I did like the emotional play with faking that Nezuko would be dead, even thought it didnt fool me, but that was it, I would say this peaked during the middle, and then until the first Upper is killed, Muichirou's tale was the usual stuff, but I enjoyed is development in this season regardless, and I adore Mitsuri, she is full of energy and such a kind soul, I would honestly married her 1000x times, wtf those assholes were seeing?! Brain-rotten for sure.

Loved the ED a lot (it was also good on S2), and this time I almost never skipped the OP either, the songs just fit nicely.
But that is it, some more world building concerning the past, but the fights were not as impactful neither gritty or emotional, and the enemies just meh and lame.

I guess I swallowed the shit pacing pill with Entertainment District; I was more bothered by it there than here, though this season was probably even worse paced - maybe? I'd have to compare fight scenes, but considering Entertainment District was only one real fight where this had two, two and a half-ish, I think this one might actually win. It baffles me to see people complain about the pacing now.

To compound matters further, Muichiro is by a country fuckin' mile the most likeable and interesting Hashira so far. Mitsuri's presence is pure joy and she's hot.

I do have to give the edge to Entertainment District arc because the melodramatic moments landed a lot heavier, and the raw hype of our main trio got me pumped more than whatever the hell was happening here.

This has overall been the season where it's most clear to me how rudimentary Demon Slayer's formula is. There is no story, really; it exists, but it's barebones. In a way it's better that way. Most shounen faff about with flaccid, anticlimactic mysteries and overly complex magic systems (not that I don't also love that), but Demon Slayer knows what it is and focuses on the loop. Big battles, epic presentation, and backstories woven between fights and after fights to make you connect to whatever characters are relevant this season. Every season is like the rest, more or less, in such a way because the Hashira of the arc or the demon of the arc are contained within the arc you could really just kind of watch the seasons in whatever order you wanted and only miss a little bit of minimalistic, overarching narrative moving at a glacial pace.

I struggle to differentiate between the seasons quality-wise when each of them - including Mugen Train as its own season - are effectively doing the same thing.

And honestly, the villain/deuteroagonist of the season approach works really well. It's a good, simple show. I normally hate backstories, but I love them whenever they come up in Demon Slayer, because the whole show is kind of actually about the backstories, really.

Solid 7/10.

Thanks for the biggest laugh I've had in a long while. I think your mind will be absolutely blown when you learn the source material's demographic is aimed at young teenagers. Oh this show is for kids but with blood you say? Ooh wow what a discovery 🀣

I feel the dude above won't accept any argument with his fanboy attitude, but since he blatantly deleted the rest of the paragraph that pretty much does a rebutal to his point I'll expand just a bit my point for other people.

The reason anime got respected and gained audience was that it aimed at a demographic it usually didn't had any attention and treated with respect. Teenagers (12-18y) wanted media that are closer to be aimed to adults than the young children (5y to 11y). Because although adults label everyone of them as "kids", teenagers clearly don't have many similarities with them.

Pretty much all shounen are written respecting its targeting audience. Sure, there are undeniable childish elements in all of them, but they usually aren't the core of it. Demon Slayer however have most of their scenes clearly written for that young children audience and some scenes (specially the comedic ones) feels like it's aimed to kids even younger than that.

The show only starts maturing a bit on the Infinity Castle movie, but it's an objective fact before that, it's a show written for a target audience it's not aimed at.

@dedanne Ha the first 6 episodes are probably my favourite from the whole series and I realised that was partially why

And the last 5 episodes were so disappointing cos Mitsuri was criminally underused

this episode honestly made up for the rest of the somewhat lacking moments this season imo, that was beautiful. you really have to give props to tanjirou's VA, he seriously does deliver raw emotion in his voice for these moments!
simply put, absolutely loved that finale, AND my girl nezuko is the chosen one!! i am ready to hear her speak again <3 10/10

i didnt really care for the arc in general but the last few episodes were great. a 7/10 from me. i liked seeing muichiro and mitsuri, love them so much. and the whole thing with nezuko wtf?? conquering the sun. whatever this means. i liked the characters this season but the demons were annoying af. like even worse than the previous arc. it does surprise me though how tanjirou is able to surpass the hashira when it comes to fighting the upper rank demons. you think that muichiro and mitsuri wouldve been able to do it together but idk. when watching mugen train i felt this way about rengoku and he actually did hold out with a great fight but the hashira we have seen afterwards dont seem to compare. closest was tengen i guess? anyways pretty good but wasnt my favorite

Great episode and amazing ending to this solid season. Genuinely don't know why people are dogging this season so much. It's not as good as the last one, but still really good!
