This show is becoming more and more cheesy to me. I see people complaining about the animation and even the fight scenes, but I’m turned off more about the story itself the most. It’s just not good imo. This is highly disappointing for a show that was so hyped. I’ll continue watching, but damn this is underwhelming smh

@Chrissfrann1 I agree that the main plot is pretty typical, but I find most jokes funny (I don't like the chinese girl related gags). Overall a pretty enjoyable experience

the turning point where the main story finally kicks off, i'm glad we're getting to that although some things were a bit too quick. such as the iconic sakamoto and boiled moment, we glossed over that too quick but would've been better if we just took a few more seconds to let it sink in. also seems like they're trying too hard to copy suzuki's speedlines from the manga but it only really hits hard because it's a manga. rest of the episode was good, the movie from a certain director kanaguri and we see the order. slim sakamoto looks fire though and i like how they spared some time at the end for the lighthearted moments. also also aoi being the feared one is my favorite thing ever lol.

@GTRaijin nah, shin is one of the very few with a supernatural ability and it gets explained later how he got it. rest of them are just rule-of-cool.

Exactly what I’m confused about. This was presented a regular world of assassins, but we randomly get mind readers and shapeshifters. It’s nonsensical bs lol I’d be cool with it if it was known to be a supernatural theme, but they’re just plastering superpowers on regular people for the heck of it lol smh 😂

Yeah they do have some funny scenes. I do wonder, what did the manga readers loved more about it. Was it the comedy or fight scenes, because it can’t be that bland story.

Lmao bro, you're the type of guy that can't form an opinion on his own seeing how you always try to please both sides.

"Would really love to know where those "doesn't do the manga panel justice" twats are at because this was ACTUALLY just manga panels colored lmao."
Let's start with Boiled's clothes, do they not look way too clean after a whole fight? compare it to the manga where his shirts ACTUALLY torn. He also sits completely straight compared to the manga where it looks like he is about to give out. (i'm talking about the part where he is lighting his cigarrete which is actually THE panel). There ain't even any bruises or anything on Boiled Man besides from his face which doesn't even look good.

Sakamoto's expression and demeanor in general are completely different. It looks like he is bored staring down at his chest while in the manga he has a death stare that kinda sums up that he is still cautious.

Fyi, you didn't even screenshot the right panel that everyone is talking about lmao. Seems like you don't even know what you're talking about. Just keep trying to post as fast as you can, seems like a job of yours.
@SideCharacterKal Ok bro, see how I said "this was ACTUALLY just manga panelS (PLURAL) colored lmao", I'm not referring to THAT screenshot/panel in general. For example, I'm talking about a scene like this that's a still frame.

And yes, I agree that the picture that I posted is terrible compared to the panel itself. I've just waited for that panel to be animated since I first read it that I wanted to post it. It has nothing to do with the point I was making in the post itself. I should've clarified that further, my bad. No need to get all aggressive pal, this adaption is shit I get it, don't throw a fit one me about it though jeez.

Huh, so Lu isn’t just a meme, she can actually fight when drunk and can even switch the type of drunk she is, I think I liked her fight with Obiguro more than the main card lol, the way she snuck in the kiss was smooth. And surprisingly, Obiguro actually respected Lu’s strength and was more thrilled than pissed off that Lu was pulling punches, maybe we’ll see her again after this arc. And although many are complaining about Sakamoto versus Boiled, I thought it was a pretty fun fight, but I do wish Boiled didn’t just get ended once Sakamoto turned the fat off, I don’t even care about the animation not being the greatest, I just wanted Boiled to have a fighting chance lol, but really this was mainly a showcase of how badass Sakamoto is, and I’d say it done that job.

And Aoi found out about the bounty, I’m kinda amazed it took her this long, but her frightening the two hitmen was pretty funny lol, she is hard boiled indeed. And we also got teased on “The Order” which Nagumo is a part of and Sakamoto used to be, they seem like a very sane bunch of individuals lol, but hey the goth babe was hot, I’m excited for more of her. And after the investigation and introduction of this killer targeting hitmen, the gang now has to train, idk if we got a training arc coming or not but I’m looking forward to seeing what other killers may come their way, also Sakamoto just got his fat back the next day huh lol, guess we’re not getting an explanation on that.

I love how everyone was casually hanging out after the fights were over. Even Boiled got lectured alongside Sakamoto.

I figured Sakamoto would get fat again but he even grew back his moustache!

Lu's training is going to be her drinking like a fish and I love it.

And Lu, I don't like her, she's not cute for me. I wonder why? 🤔🤔🤔

Anyway, another cool action episode, if not for the killing.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Fight was definitely quick.. but I feel like I’m the only one who liked the episode. Nice ending to the boiled mini-arc and set up for this new hit-man assassin plot-line.

The fact this is a series about fucking hitman and the most intimidating person here is Sakamoto’s wife is so funny to me. Boiled was such a bad ass just a few mins ago and now he’s bowing down to Mrs. Sakamoto promising not to kill her husband lmao

“How can he still be so strong after he quit being a hitman” form is temporary, class is permanent my boy. Even without his wife being around, I don’t think Boiled would want smoke with Sakamoto again 😂

So we finally meat the order and that bride character I’ve seen so much art of on twitter! I always thought she had Hayamin written all over her. Perfect casting. Blonde dude seemed like the voice of reason in the room and next thing I know he cutting up someone for putting onions in his risotto lmao.

Love the idea of random assassins just walking into the shop every hour or so to make a name for themselves and take out Sakamoto, only to get their asses beat lol.

I like this show a lot, might not have insane production values, but it has that same sort of comfy vibe Yozakura and spy x family had.
@Marinate1016 It is weird how Saori Hayami voices two black haired lady assassins in less than 5 years between the series. Doofenschmirtz nickel meme came to mind

Is it just me or is the pacing going a bit too fast?

Like I get that the battle animation was good and that the JAA is going after Sakamoto with his bounty but the way that in the span of a few episodes Lu professes fraternal love towards her new family, how Sakamoto loses and gains weight, all the hitmen changing hearts after being beaten, how quickly they found the hideout and having all of the above and the small training montage in the same episode didn't let anything breathe propely. I'm guessing they are tied with the deadline and number of episodes. Maybe the manga is like this as well, who knows.
@rasterman7 They cut out at least one chapter that I recall where Sakamoto interacted with a police lady, who we've not seen anyway in the manga since, so...probably distilling stuff out in places

Previous episode are great, but not this one. Boiled VS Sakamoto seems dull on this episode... Drunk Lu is stronger of course.
An introduction of new assassins, Only Nagumo and Osaragi look interesting in that 'order' group so far.
@Nikmomo93 He mentions 3 other people and I'm not even sure if the author entirely knew about the other 3 that Shishiba (Mr. "I don't like onions in my risotto) mentioned. We do meet 3 other Order members, though 1 is supposedly overseas, another is infamously shy and the last one actually was name dropped in the episode.

Hyo doesn't do a lot until later, but Takamura is a personal favorite in what he can do (opening teases it, but he's crazy powerful and probably one of the older JAA members in general)

@GTRaijin The most supernatural stuff we get is pretty limited, but it does get into that level of absurdity like Rurouni Kenshin at times (which does bear parallels, even just with the lead, but also characters using crazy unique weapons)

@Chrissfrann1 Nagumo as a shapeshifter seems exaggerated, he feels more like a disguise expert. People move faster and exert more strength than is really physically possible without breaking limbs and tearing muscle realistically, the series isn't about being grounded

@ryzxgum I always like how watching the anime will bring up fun easter eggs the author planted early on, though Kanaguri probably won't show up proper until season 2 in the summer. And Shishiba mentioned 3 others besides Takamura and while at least 2 would be known by manga readers, the 3rd was only introduced a few years ago (overseas assignment)

As an anime-only, I can empathize with the frustration. But I was fine with how they handled the fight against Boiled since I don’t care about his character outside of his role in the episode. The introduction of The Order and the white-haired guy, along with the infiltration sequence, was wicked awesome. I loved the episode.

P.S. I'm obsessed with Nagumo already!

Well, from the PVs alone, I could tell they didn't put much effort into the Lu and Obiguro "fight". And I don't really care, it doesn't matter much either way, but yeah, it's the only time you'll see Lu do something, so I would've expected them to do at least... something. But hey, the Boiled and Sakamoto fight was better right? Well.... for the first big fight of the show, it was... eh? About as average as the Lu fight that had happened minutes prior lol. Would really love to know where those "doesn't do the manga panel justice" twats are at because this was ACTUALLY just manga panels colored lmao.

But yeah, here's where the real story begins. Got the introduction of the Dondekai, the aura gods themselves the ORDER... and yeah, the main villain of the show as well, X or Slur. Was nice to see best girl Osaragi ofc, and Nagumo in action... sorta. Just a setup episode of what's to come now that the real story has begun... but the comedy is still as fun as it has been, I mean Lu legit got drunk on the job and just got SO FUCKING LUCKY that she had killed a bro after Sakamoto xD

It was pretty close, there were more bruises and the lighting was obviously better being in black and white.

I enjoyed the episode and music, I'm not an animation fiend. Episode 5 was well paced, we got a lot of progression and world building. I'd say it was the best one so far

What a badass panel, the manga is so much better.Thank god I read it

I’m a manga reader, and I’m also quite annoyed of the negativity coming from the other manga readers. But at the same time, I can’t really say much against them, because they do bring up fair points. SakaDays as an adaptation is not rly up to the mark, as an anime, however, it is quite pleasant. I too am one of the ppl who wanted jjk type animation for sakamoto days (I say wanted, whether the manga deserves it or not is different for everyone), but i still am enjoying the series thus far. I have my complaints, but I’ll hold on to them.
If the manga readers are disappointed, let them express it, but do it through criticism, and not just insults. The studio isn’t delivering well, but they’re still working hard, throwing insults will only discourage them, and the quality won’t get any better (tho audience reception rarely matters for anime quality).

I think they overdid it with Sakamoto's... ridiculously flexible body. Like some of the worst Gintama gags this was potentially insulting rather than funny. Imagine being chronically obese and seeing that guy lose and gain 40 kg instantly. Would you find it funny?

The fight did end a little too quickly, but it did showcase how much stronger Sakamoto is, when slimmed down, compared to Boiled. Still, the OST for the fight, as well as for the whole episode, was great, though. =)

Another thing that was expected was Aoi eventually finding out about the assassins going after Sakamoto. She did give him a lecture, but at least she's forgiven him this time and hopes that he'll have this ordeal wrapped up eventually.

We got to see more members of The Order and they were certainly eccentric and weird in many ways. Not only that, but there's also a murderous villain going around who I do see being dealt with soon enough, so I do look forward to seeing where the plot of this story will go.

Best character this episode was drunken Lu. We need more drunken antics.

Would have liked Tarou changing his appearance if it was more of a disguise technique similar to what happened a few episodes ago with Nagumo instead of the stupid reasoning they came up with here. Oh well.

Well I’m not gon lie to you…I was really hoping for a lil more animation when it came to the hard boil fight but hey it was bad but I expected more bc this fight was actually pretty hyped asf in the manga Hard Boil sparking his light was so cold in the manga but they didn’t make it look cool here, I hope the following fights are better animated imo, and not like it was bad I’ve seen bad animation it’s just the at this deserved better animation that’s it

LMAO the part I’ve been waiting for…Shin and Lu beating up and stomping out Nagumo hahahaha🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

What I find kind weird but funny is that some parts in this episode you’d get some good ass animation for like a 2 seconds like for example when Shishiba stabbed that chefs hand, the blood gushing was really fluid, this studio confuses me man😭

Dondenkai’s plans are tough. Sakamoto and other must be fully prepared for what’s next.

Welp I gotta say it, this anime is probably the disappointment of the season for me so far. It might be too early to say, but this show is already developing into a direction I'd already feared - a very linear storyline with the main characters simply fighting against attempted assassinations again and again and again....people are complaining about the animation, but I think the animation is perfectly fine. I'm just bored with the story itself. The characters aren't very interesting either. Everything feels so surface level so far, but maybe I had too high expectations for a battle shounen series.
